Ive just finnished fitting twin piston calipers to my TR about half an hour ago, after running into fairly minor complications with brake line fittings rounding off, we got the whole lot fitted and bled with increadible ease. One might even say they where made for it! I wasnt even planning to do this today, but a found a set of calipers at the wreckers today and thought stuff it, ill have them! The calipers cos $55 each plus i purchased a pair on new DBA rotors ($68 each) plus a set of bendix pads ($56 set).
OMFG Repco are usless. I told them i needed pads for the Twin piston calipers and all they can find is a listing for the singles, with a note that reads All Models. so they give me these, i get them home to discover the pads i need are twice the size! So i rang them up and they have the correct ones in stock. still a pain.
anyway.
the brakes are awsome! they bite So much harder i keep over braking! so much feel when they lock up i can feel it Imeadiatly. Every Magna needs these!

yeah the verada twin pots. Do it! i'd love to se 4 pots on a magna!

If my twin pots are twice as good as the single pots, are 4 pots 4 times as good as stock?

i think it is...but i think there s a bit of work to do with the lines.

i wonder if you have to change mounting brackets and so on?

Im pretty sure mouting brackets are the same, it just bolts on, but yes only thing you need to change is the brake lines, other then that they slap right on

This might sound odd but its the truth.

Until you get excessive heat, your OEM brakes are already over-engineered. Fit with good pads and fluid and you can brake just as good with the OEM setup compared to full race bread brakes. Sometimes better, because if the pads are propper race pads then they need to be up to temp before the opperate propperly.

Once your under race conditions, your discs will start to overheat and the pads glaze them over which will effect braking as the fluid boils etc etc, but until that point, the std brakes are more than enough.

The limiting factor for a street cars brake system is its tyres.

Its still a great idea to upgrade brakes though, and probably the best place to start when modding a car :D

dont worry bout the tyres, a 235mm contact patch is more than enough!
the brake lines are easy if you get the Twin pot lines attached to the clipers. then every thing is bolt up!
i got the calipers with everything with them, lines brackets and new pad, which i didnt use cause i didnt know what they where.

I always wanted to upgrade the fronts because i didnt like the bias with the rears, i elt they where to powerful for the fronts on dirt. in emergences the rear would lock and send me sideways, so i wanted to counter this with bigger fronts. Worked a treat.

I was going to use slotted rotors, but couldnt wait for them to arive.

from what i can remember, the 2nd gen Verada's brakes are also on Pajero's, so must work a treat on the smaller magna :D
