Well when I bought the car it only came with one key and no remote. I have a 97 KF Ei Verada and I was wondering am I able to get a remote from somewhere?

Also is it hard to program? Because it car also didn't come with Operators Manuel.....

Oh and also instead of starting another thread, the boot hatch button in the glove box has stopped opening the boot, anyone know what is wrong and how I might go fixing it?

Thanks in advance.

1- Enter programming mode by unlocking the vehicle, turn the ignition switch to the "ON" then "OFF" positions 3 times within 5 seconds, finishing in the "ON' position. The vehicle is now in programming mode.
2- Within 5 seconds operate the button on the remote. The turn signal lights will flash to indicate that the remote has been programmed.
3-Turn ignition off.
4-Test remotes
5-If all else fails repeat steps 1-4

ask EGO to get it for you at trade price.

he makes a big la la about how you shouldnt pay more, yet gives you an unobtainale alternative.. .:belt: get the guy to share the amc love and send some your way.

I called up my local Mitsu dealer to ask about the price for keyless remotes for KF's and was quoted $65 each. Can someone help me get them cheaper?

Thanks in advance

Yeah TF remotes are double the price of a TJ, i searched for about a month before i found one on ebay, got it for 50 buck or somthing. which was only a saving of about 20 if i got it from mitsubishi. Be patient one may turn up on ebay, otherwise just get the one from a mitsubishi dealer,

by the way people, im still in search for a TF sports center cap. Haha im a cheap bastard, but i refuse to pay thirty bucks for one from mistubishi.

Make sure that you know how much a new one is before buying of ebay. I saw a peanut style from a TE go for $45 + $7 postage for a used unit. I purchesed a new unit from my local dealer for $43.

I've just been through replacing the key and remote and I have the empty wallet to prove it.

The TF had a unique keyless entry remote and to make matters worse, they are sealed units and you have to buy a new one when the battery dies, unless someone knows how to crack them open and replace the battery. Part number MI-MR909973 and cost $61.80 retail.

The TE was aparantly a single button, the TF was 2 grey buttons for the wagon and 3 grey buttons for the sedan (one for the boot). Subsequent models, TH onwards, had 3 variously coloured buttons and these are the ones you see for sale on EBAY. I was told that they are not compatable with the TF but I would be interested if anyone knows it they can be made to work 'cos they are a lot cheeper.

Keys are available for $63, they are supplied cut but not programmed (another $45). Part number MI-MR203101.

Please note that it comes to $169.80.....I've got to stop typing....the tears are shorting out my keyboard.

Regards,
Bill

I hate the TF remotes, where the hook holds it onto the keyring, keeps wearing quickly and breaking and renders the remote useless. I've gone without a remote for 2 years now. lol

There's a secondhand remote for sale on EBAY....it's up to $66 with $7.50 postage with a day to go. New ones are $62......go figure.

Blindbat

Try a different dealer........the whole package Key/cutting/programming and remote entry should not be more than $170......this is what was charged last month.......$380 is being massively ripped off.
