Even if this just bumps your post to get some of the guys to read it and give you a decent answer...:D

If you're up for a new ignition barrel (and keys), which you might be lucky and pick up from a wrecker, then it'll need reprogramming at a dealer, I believe.:)

For the flat spots, you might just need to disconnect the battery, wait 15 minutes and let it get used to your driving from scratch.

Welcome to the club. Is this the car you're selling?

Try some graphite lock lubricant in the barrel. It may help and is a lot easier and cheaper than changing the barrel. Push it in with your key.

Don't worry about the ingnition barrel...
i would suggest you get another Key cut (10 bucks)
my key does the same thing.. but the cut key works perfect..
the original won't open the glove box or the doors and sometimes won't turn in the ignition..
so my suggestion is get a Key Cut for it and give that a go..

the reason you have to fiddle is because over time the key has worn away at the bottom and no longer reaches comfortably all the way down the barrell so the mechanism struggles to engage and turn.
