I think the M4 head is TN-TP i bought a TS motor recently it had a M6 head with roller rockers, I also have TP Elante with a M1 head, I was wondering why it is a bit slow off the mark

the astron had a series of heads, started with m1 ended at m9, each series had minor improvements n such. The series stamp is in the middle of cyl 2 and 3 level with the exhaust ports
and yeh im just trying to work out what model/year magna the m4 head was put on

4 would be off a TP.
The roller rocker and kidney shaped combustion chamber heads that I have seen are marked M6 and M9 (TR and TS respectively).

I should also note that the roller rockers will work on earlier heads.

There is a little bit of information on the Astron at my website, let me know where it is lacking and I will try to fix it.

ok so im guessing m4 would be early tp's so from late 89 to late 90 and then onwards would have had the m6?

a page on the series of heads would be great,
as far as im aware the m1 was leaded TM (leaded sigma too i think) m2 unleaded tm (late unleaded sigma?) m3 possible tn but i have never heard of one, m4 early tp, m5 dunno?, m6 late tp and TR, M9 ts

The M6 head appears to have same size combustion chamber and valves as M4 but bigger inlet ports, the Sigma ajustable rockers don't seem to work on the M6 head, could be the valves are longer

I am pretty sure the M6 was TR only. I dont recall ever seeing a TP with the nice combustion chambers.
