Hello All,
Wanting to know what gets done on a 100k service and how much it would cost to get done? Probably wanting to get it done from Mitsubishi i guess.
I have had my 1993 Mitsubishi Verada for 2months now and its got 235k's on it and just to be safe, i wanna get the 100k service done...
Hoping it wont cost too much but im sure it will.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Pete

The most important item and the most expensive is to change the timing belt.

A little behind in the servicings aren't we??
If you look in your warranty/service booklet (kept with owners manual) you should see a chart. One axis has KM's ie
10,000 20,000 30,000 - - 100,000 or similar
engine timing x
engine oil x x x x
replace timing belt x
It'll look similar to what I have drawn above, except I plucked these details from my - I won't say where.
If you don't have one of these books, I'll get off my (I still won't say) and get it.
EDIT: Had to go to the car, so here it is...
for the 100K service...
Lubrication:
check fluid level and condition for:
brake master cylinder
clutch master cylinder
power steering
change engine oil and filter every 6 months or every 10K
check engine coolant level and concentration
valve clearance adjustment
check battery electrolyte specific gravity
check all fluid lines and hoses for routing, tightness and leaks
check ignition cables, distributer cap and rotor for damage
lubricate distributer (carby models)
check adjustment and condition of external drive belts
replace fuel filter (both carby and MPI models)
check and clean air cleaner
replace timing belt (and again at 200K)
check air con refrigerant level at receiver drier sight glass
replace spark plugs (if you have the platinum type)
check exhaust system for alignment, security and leaks
check fuel oil, brake and vapour lines for damage, deterioration and leaks
check front and rear suspension components for alignment , damage, wear and security
check condition of ball joint seals and all bushes
check steering components for alignment, wear and security
check driveshaft dust boots for damage and deterioration
check rear wheel bearings for play
check tyres for wear, damage and pressure
brakes - check and adjust handbrake as necessary
check pad/lining wear
drain, fluch and refill brake hydraulic system using the specified brake fluid (every 24 months) or at 100K
and then supposedly they test drive it to make sure it's all OK.
Not sure if your mechanic does it by the book, Mitsu should, but I don't reckon the average backyard dodgy mechanic would carry out the full list.
enjoy
