They are xenon HID - I looked at the conversion (ie purchased bulbs and ballasts).
Things to keep in mind...
1) Illegal, unless OEM bulb/lens/reflector is used
2) ONLY fits in Parabolic headlights BUT (see point 3)
3) The bulb shield in the headlight must have the end cut off - it is too close to the return wire, and will kill the ballast.
Apart from this, the HID bulbs will fit OK, and the beam pattern is very nice. The problem is the cost - $600 or so trade for bulbs/ballast!

or you can get the cheaper variant - the ultra white globes or arctic blue globes - both are legal cost less than a HID setup and have the same effect - the blue/white look.

as manual said most ppl get the same effect for cheaper with the blue/green sorta globes.
but make sure they are approved to OZ standards...and keep the packet in your car to prove they are. a mate was defected for having them and they wouldnt belevae they where of standard...

I was told the same thing by the guys at the pits - though the headlights should be stamped on teh back with the ADR number - so if the cops argue pull out your light globe and prove it to them - is only a 20 second job!!
But yeah - make sure they are ADR compliant!!

Yep, I agree with all the above, make sure it is ADR approved,
you've got couple or more options if you just want the blue/white light, there are cheap around $20-40 blue/white globes around, but probably don't last all that long, if you just want to show, it should do.
if you want the real stuff, *mind you, not exactly ADR either, they are about $130 - 150 depends on where you buy them, I am using Phillips Diamond vision, they are great, as I don't have the Verada parabolics, my lens are frosted and hence it blocks out a lot of the light from the standard yellow globe, I find that this globe shines very nicely, especially in dark streets or in the country, I promise you that these, although don't look as bright as the stock yellow globes, do actually shine much much further and reflect much much better of anything that is reflective.
however, I would really want to see how bright they get if you put them in the real parabolics though, it may become too bright and attract cops. I'm sure someone out there has it.. But yeah, with my frosted lens, you can stand, say 5m from the front of the car, about drivers eye height, and you won't get blinded by it, because it shines downwards, not upwards anyway due to lens.
cheers.
happy lighting.
