Help needed guys. Which Magnas and Veradas were factory supplied to run on LPG.
I assume they were DUAL FUEL (LPG and petrol). Do you need to start them on petrol and then switch to LPG? Where is the LPG tank located and how much boot space does it take up? Would love input from owners and general comments on how happy they are with the LPG aspect. Also keen to learn which Magnas and Veradas can be converted to LPG, without problems, such as valves. Any other potential problems? I am mainly interested in sedans, but if necessary might have to go the wagon way.

Which series?

I believe all of the recent ones were dedicated LPG only and not duel.

TJ's had dual fuel as well. A heap of the SA government cars that were/are sold really cheaply are TJ dual fuels

Iv'e had my TL on dedicated gas for 2 years and its awesome.
$30 at the most to fill up and get average 380-400k to the tank.
Drives smooth, and power loss is minimal.
Yep the only downside is loss of bootspace, about 40% loss
My tip would be go to a mitsu dealer and ask to see a gassed TL

So if I go to one, will they show me a photo of you? Now I know where you got your name from!

I had Gas in my XF Ford (before I saw the light of the Magna) and yeah - it was good, but gas was cheap then.

As an example of my TL on petrol against Gassed TL's on Gas, we have a 71L tank. It costs me in the order of $80 - $85 to fill and I get around 600kms.

Okay, so it's chaper to fil on gas (less than half as expensive), however I get around 200km more on petrol. Plot this as cost to fill vs kms travelled.

Then minus the cost of the installation (over $2k?) and then decide how long you are going to keep your current vehicle.

Bottom line, if you're not going to keep it more than 24 months, the saving on the gas to fill out, may not pay for the installation and conversion.

Exactly, have a look at the link I posted on the LPG Census thread.
1. You have to consider km/ltr for both. Which LPG is inferior
2. You have to spend extra for services with LPG
3. You are carrying extra weight all the time (like an extra person)
4. Cost of installation
5. Structural/suspension wear and tear (with the added constant weight at the back)
