Some knob with a yellow car scraped against the side of my rear bumper yesterday when it was parked, only came to realise this morning.
More pissed off then i'd usually be because the rear bumper was new and resprayed just a few months ago!! :doubt:
Anyway is there a way of getting that idiot's yellow paint off my car without doing too much damage to mine? Its about 30cm long! fdkhdflsahifewa!@!!
Try a cut and polish first.

try wiping with lacquer thinners or turpentine, usually takes foreign paint off.
Do it gently and it won't bother the underlying paint... but if your paintwork is
pretty fresh that could be risky too. With older paint its usually pretty safe.

Use a polishing creme, it will need to have abrasive particles in it to remove the paint mark, but you want particles with only a low abrasive affect. Cut and polish will be quite abrasive with a high risk of cutting through your own paint. You can ask your local panel beater suppliers what they would recommend.
You could also use an automobile detailing "clay" bar and detailer spray. They are designed to remove overspray, sap and other surface contaminents without being abrasive to the underlying paint.

Meg's Swirl Remover 2.0 $25 RRP, good for getting that crap off and doing your whole car when you can be assed, no chance of ruining your paint with that stuff

If you do take some paint off you could just buy a touch up kit, I have just been using a spray can for some engine parts on my car and it's really easy.
Just remeber, you both got a dint, but he lost paint.

I'll go have a look for that swirl remover when I get time.
I've used the touch-up paint, the ones that come in a nail polish type bottle and when i apply it its thick and streaky....looks pretty bad:confused:

BUT if paints only on his clearcoat he can get it off, why paint over paint?
he may aswell use 2000 to sand off this paint thats on his bumper then polish it out..

I thought about sanding it but then I thought it would take the paint off again
I'm not good with this stuff at all...
Thanks

Citrus cleaner believe it or not it works. Have used it on my father inlaws current car and previous car. Spray it on and wipe it off. Wont affect your paint work but will get rid of the other cars paint. Just dont leave it on too long..

2000 grit is almost smoother then actuall paper, so its VERY VERY fine, thus you will be able to see what you are taking off, you can use that...wont hurt
