Does anyone know how are these wired up from the factory? Just piggybacked from the front door speakers?

Thats what the pods are worth, but they want an absolute fortune for the little speakers

Just get some tweaters from Strathfield or JayCar. no more than $40

Nothing that comes out of Strathfield is worth buying. I got the factory ones already from a wrecker :)

They are ok/do the job.
I don't know what brand they are, they are standard in the Veradas/VRX/Ralliart. Go audition some at a car dealer.

:D The tweeters in the pods on the doors are in parallel with the midbass drivers in the doors but the genuine tweeters have a capacitor mounted directly to the back of them.
The midrange drivers in the dash are also parallel with another capacitor. the midbass drivers are given a full range signal. there are no inductors involved. This setup is not optimum but its cheap : ) I believe you could use an external crossver to get better results  let me know if you need more info.

Thats what I thought. Yeah, I've got the genuine ones with a capacitor :)

thatll keep you amused.. :) might I suggest if you want to make the system better go to an elecronics store with your tweeter and find what the crossover point of the capacitor is then fit an inductor of matching value is series with your midbass driver. This will mean all the hf sound goes to your tweeter and all the lf to your midbass. much more efficent. youll end up with a cleaner top end : )

Save your $350.00, id never pay that for the crap mitsu tweeter which is a paper cone job!
Buy yourself a decent set of 2-way splits instead!
