What could be causing this? Often, if I am going up a hill, drop it back to 2nd and floor it, the car goes really well , but, once I lift the foot the engine feels like it is running on 2 cylinders an and almost stalls. Sometimes, if I put my foot down at this point, the engine chocks even more. It can take 2 - 10 minutes to return to smooth running if I just drive slowly without trying to push it along.


Any ideas, tests i could do to find the cause?

It could be a number of things.

- Fuel Filter
- Ignition System (Plugs, leads, distributor cap, rotor)
- Injectors
- Kickdown band

Take a look around the motor if you know what to look for, otherwise drop it in to a good mechanic for a checkup...

It sounds like something is choking your engine... Besides a good service,

Besides a good service, I'd start with the following:

- Check PCV valve is not blocked
- Replace Fuel filter
- Replace air filter and check that airway is clear
- Clean fuel injectors
- Check spark plugs and leads, replace if nessasary
