Okay,
I just installed an Alpine H/U in me mums magna. Everything works fine, 'xept her indicators don't work (but her hazard lights do) and the SRS lights are permanently on. If anyone knows why it's not working and/or how to fix it, please respond ASAP or txt/ring me on 0425 724 135.
My mum drives my 7 month old baby brother around and it's pretty dangerous for her indicators not to work so please help me out!

Cheers
-Ned

check the plug behind the hazards... make sure its pushed in properly

usually srs light on means you need to take it into be serviced.

Dunno if this could be in anyway related, but did u ground it to a part of the chasis or to a wire that was there, my bro grounded the head unit in both his cars to a wire going to his headlights, so when he turned his lights on the head unit stopped working, i hit him pretty hard for doing it a second time, i had to fix it. If u have a wiring diagram for the car look for any connection what so ever between indicator and head unit and maybe get ur car serviced for the SRS problem. Im probably not much help, I only know the electrics in my car pretty much off the top of my head and i seem to look for wires that arent there in other peoples cars when im not thinking lol

ummmm, i wired the ground to a wire that was already there. now that u mention it, my dimmer function doesn't work either. hmmmm, i wonder how that's related to the indicators though. anyway, thx for the help D@ve, im gonna go and check out the wiring all over again.

ahh... ground to chassis dude, or into the stock wiring ploom...
All ur electrics are related in a car as they all use a common ground.

I'd say it would be something simple though

Do as said above, though connecting your ground wire to the dimmer wire could have caused a chain reaction and blown a fuse as well, so go check for fuses too once you get ground on the H/U sorted.

Yup as above it'll be either the ground or a fuse.

No i'm just clarifying with the original poster on what the cause is likely to be. I would think having more positive diagnosis is better than having 1 so that the OP can safely say they know what the cause is.
Or is it a crime on AMC now to try and help fellow members?

Id rather see just one person who knows what he is on about, than that person and 15 sheep reiterating his original point.:doubt:

Seems to be a lot of that going on at the moment but.

FYI - I read the original post and came to the conclusion of my post before i read anyone elses, i then read on to acknowledge anyone else who may have come up with the same diagnosis as to not steal away their thunder (well try to anyway).
How does the original poster know the person that replied knows his stuff? He doesn't, which is why i was clarifying with him. I really don't see why people are getting edgy over this.
