View Full Version : Car has chosen to royally **** itself !!!
Ok my car just **** itself, no idea why but it did, heres what needs to be done, has anyone got an estimate on how much it'll cost?:
-Clutch system needs bleeding
-Check clutch slave cylinder
-Brake system needs bleeding
-Clean calipers
-Check and adjust Engine timing accordingly
-Exhaust leak out of connection tomy intake (pipe from exhaust being refed to my intake,
will remove it all sometime)
If anyone has a clue as to how much this will cost it would be appreciated,
Thanks in advance,
Dave

yeh..
clutch slave cyclinder.. replace seals.. 10 min job.
clutch system bleeding is 20mins..
brake system bleeding is 20mins..
clean calipers...do i even have to say it..
engine timing can be modified by any mechanic for no more than $20bucks.
and the exhaust leak.. hmmm... not sure probably new seals?
prob all of this no more than $150 and it will only take a few hours if that..

thats what i was thinking but a few people made it sound like a $1,000 job, i havent taken it to the mechanic yet. And i know cleaning calipers isnt even a job, but this is the list im giving to the mechanic to use to make sure he's done everything.
The exhaust pipe should be a less then 10 min job its just tightening or replacing a nut

Your car hasn't **** itself, that is all routine maintenence work. Learn to do it yourself, there's nothing on that list that is difficult.
Regards, Andrew.

yeah the title kinda was over the top because i wasnt in a good mood. I also now need to replace the clutch, have my seals replaced and have my discs machined
if your clutch slave is leaking there's not much point just replacing the seals, quite often the shaft wears too. so replacing the seals might do a bandaid job at fixing it. Get the shaft re-sleeved, then put new seals in it. Or find out how much they are new. cant imagine it being more than $150.

its the valve seals that need replacing, i should have probably said that in my previous post

how did you or your mech for the valve seals? coz oil burning? or no engine pressure?
