Hey Guys,

Well, yesterday I finally bit the bullet and ordered a new Head Unit. Have been saving for quite some time now and with a little help from good old 'Mr. 12 Months Interest Free' i will have an Eclipse ANV6000 with JVC TV Tuner installed into the ralliart on Friday (18th Aug).

This unit has everything. CD, DVD, MP3, WMA, GPS Sat Nav, TV and the options of Reverse Parking Camera and iPod Control Interface (both cost extra though:doubt: something i can save for).

Was looking around at portable Sat Nav Units and in-dash flip up monitors and when i came across this i thought it was something i just had to have..

RRP of the AVN6000 was $3499 and the JVC TV Tuner was $329 (couldnt justify spending $789 for the Eclipse brand when they make little to no difference).. anyway, could of got it cheaper if it was all cash, but i got $1000 over 12 months with no interest (thats why i had to pay full retail, as they audio place pays the interest for you) because i didnt want to drain my savings completely dry..

ohh and BTW, my factory eclipse unit has already been sold, so no need to ask what ill be doing with it..;)

nice work! i'll hopefully be upgrading to this one soon (i have an earlier model)

had a quick play with it in the shop and it really makes mine feel like its 3 years old!! (which it is)

love the fact that its got the seperate screen and audio options for front and rear etc! best all-in-one headunit i've ever seen

Nah wont be a scam, will just be a 2nd hand re-furb. While some are as good as new, others can be ultra dodgy. It's the luck of the draw to be honest.

They're not '2nd hand furbs', they're dodgey fakes from China.

yeah, i looked at the ones on ebay.. both the real cheap ones and the ones from the US.. wasnt sure if the sat nav would work here or our regions' DVDs would play in it..

so id rather spend the extra money and have piece of mind that it would work properly.. also get a 3 year warranty on the unit if it is installed by an eclipse dealer..

Nope the Eclipse was the only all in one.. They are very big on Sat Nav.. thats the only other unit i thought about before purchasing the clarion one.. just the price tag that put me off.. Clarion is half that and thought i can fit the sat nav for that cost..:)

yeah, its thanks to the Pajeros and the VRX Outlanders im always in and out of at work that made me get one..

This is basically the same (you cant buy the ones out of the pajeys or outlanders off the shelves as they are made specifically for those vehicles by Eurovox [sp?])

Apparently they are the same units (the eurovox ones) that are optional in the 380s.. but mitsu have temporarily discontinued them as they were having a lot of trouble with them..

hopefully mine should be all good.. (get a 3 year warranty for piece of mind):D

What can i say? I LOVE IT.. it is ****ing amazing.. Navigation is brilliant and so bloody accurate.. easy to use, very simple, touchscreen etc etc etc

This is the arial thinggy for the TV.. Tv reception is ****house because i have metallized (sp) window tinting.. they (the place i got it from) are looking for an external setup/arial for it next week.. sound is good, picture is crap..

This is where the CD's go.. Top slot is for CD/DVD's.. Bottom one is for the Navigation DVD so you can have the navigations working while watching a DVD (only headunit that will do this apparently)

So, there it is.. i cannot recommend this thing highly enough to anyone that is looking at sat. nav.
The guy that owns the place i got it from (he's a car audio engineer) said its the best headunit he has ever seen, the only one they have sold, and has the best navigation system ever.. he couldnt beleive how accurate it was compared to other brands (especially portable systems)

All in all, im rapt with it.. and it was worth every cent..

Oh, i forgot..

sound quality is excellent (only a bit better than the stock ralliart eclipse unit) and has a heap of equalizer settings and sound settings (rock, pop, concert, hall, vocal etc etc)

just gotta burn myself an MP3 CD and get the TV reception thing fixed up (hopefully i wont have to resort to removing the tinting) and ill be set..

Holy Shiat mate!......that is the sexiest thing i have ever seen - well besides my missus anyway!..........You have some serious bragging right now.....wanna watch out while driving, some people might wonder why you drive around everwhere with a smile from ear to ear!!! - they might think you have a female below window height giving you some good sensations!

yeah eurovox isnt supplying mitsubishi anymore.

they couldnt get the rear flip down dvd screen in yet cause of that.

ummm, the place i got it from was Car Accessory Installs.. im pretty sure it isnt a franchise/chain store..

but yeah, not sure which stores do insterest free.. best bet would be ring around a few places..
