Just had a quick look at the newly announced 2007 Galant and the Yanks have changed the front end to soften the ugly grille of the 2006 model which brings its looks closer to the 380. The bonnet still sports the ridge and the grille also has a ridge through the centre though it is less obvious and coloured black. See the gallery at:

New Ralliart model (pictured in the attachement) which looks similar to the VRX/GT. Same rear end treatment but new front end also sports new combination headlights. Interesting to see if Mitsubishi here use these elements in our 2007 380. Ralliart specs would look good in the VRX next year.

I was visiting to see what accessories they have for their 2006 Galant as I did use the nose mask for the US Diamante on my 2002 Verada. The Yanks have sill kick plates, nose mask and sun roof air deflector which I'm going to look into on my next business trip to the US...

Actually, I don't mind that front end treatment. The bonnet ridge puts some balls into the front and the headlight combo isn't bad either.
On the negative, the grill is too small and front bumber is really awkward.

It is defineitely an improvement on the last model. As you said, if the updated 380VRX could have a performance package similar to this one it definitely create some interest in the 380 range (I kinda added the "adding interest" bit :D; only because I think that's what will happen).

It looks more like the 380 then the previous Galant and has some features (e.g. CURTAIN AIRBAGS) which we are meant to be getting in our 380 as of the release of the new 380VRX next March (apparently on display, possibly without the new engine, just the new style VRX, at the Sydney International Motor Show).

Must note, the Gallant Ralliart, with the Mivec engine, has reached 0-60mph in 6.5seconds, according to edmunds, a reputable motoring journal :D

the front is just ugly! in the lower specs and the ralliart im not a fan at all which is a shame. The 0-60mph time is 6.5 seconds which seems to have been done in the tiptronic auto so those times aren't too shabby

I think the Eclipse looks ten times better than the new galant, galant looks exactly like a 380 imo. the eclipse has the nissan 350Z looks, well the rear end anyways!!

Actually i still think the 380 front end looks better. That bonnet buldge in the middle looks horrid with that grille and it looks way way out of place.

Yep, in tiptronic guise. That's faster than the TJ Ralliart manual. Huge potential with the MIVEC engine too! Now if only they put some brembo 4 pots on it and make it AWD we'd have a hero car.

Be assured that our ( MMAL ) vrx / gt will not look like that and I think
you may be pleasantly surprised when you see it at the motor shows.
