hey guys im just after some opinions on the follwoing amps.... this amp is gonna be powering a TS306c 400WRMS Pioneer sub at 4ohms

First we have the Pioneer GM-5200T 2 chan which puts out 380WRMS at 4ohms when bridged to 1 chan... @ $239 + $31 delivery

or we have the jaycar Precison Response AA0424 2chan which does 500WRMS at 4ohms bridged ito 1 chan... @ $219 + $31 delivery

or the Response AA0428 - D class Mono Block amp which does 400WRMS at 4ohms... @ $299 + $31 delivery

anyone had any experince with these products...or just jaycar amps in general....

atm im leaning towards the Pioneer simply because its a brand name i trust and know and its a reasonable price.

opinions welcome...cheers

Jaycar response Class D amp....they've had good things said about them.

I think Megatron had 2 for sale or something. Look for them in the For Sale section. If not, I think he can hook u up with one anyway ;)

Btw, do u have to go pionner/jaycar?

Get what you pay for... So dont expect miracles...

Either option is reasonable keeping this in mind.

I'm not sure about the other 2 amps but if it was me i would go with a pioneer.
Once i switched to my pioneer amp i'm never going back to anything else. I've got a 4 channel amp that's running bridged in mono! It pumps really hardcore and my 2 x 12"(Pioneers as well) love it.
That's what i reckon but at the end of the day it's up to u.

I would go the mono, will pump bass harder than the 2 channel amps you have listed.

There are a few amplifiers I would recommend you audition as well as those. Let me know if you want me to elaborate. :)

Well i have the Response Class D Monoblock - 800 Watt RMS. And thats running my Stage 1 Power DVC 12".... now that sub is rated at 600 Watt RMS, and its punches it ok. Mind you i will have to update my amp once i get another 12" Rockford coz i want all rockford gear, not that the amp wont power them. That response Amp could power 4 subs if u wanted it to...

So it will be good for what you need it for.

Ive got that 2x150W Response amp bridged @ 500W running a 300W DVC sub. Goes hard and copes fine.
It would be fine for what your looking for.
The D Class would be better, but lots more expensive.
I wouldnt go the pioneer purely because Im not real fond of their amps and you wont be able to run the sub at full capacity.

Cheers
Pete

I would only ever use response amps again... you get the highest power and quality from them. I was running a 2x150wrms amp to a 10" Crossfire DB dual voice coil (Putting 150wrms into it only) and to a 12" MTX Thunder 6000 and it shook the hell out of my TR. I blew up the MTX though and now I have an old school Alpine 12" VR.

Next amps I get though will be the 4x100wrms Response amp... bridged up that amp is the best value for money at $300.

At the moment I'm running two Pioneer 350wrms 15" subs off of two Pioneer 5100t amps and it sounds awesome!

The jaycar mono would be your best bet, cause that does 700WRMS @ 2ohm and close to 1000WRMS @1ohm, so plenty of room for upgrading there with the same amp

$215!!!!!! Crazy. Was that through AMC or from Jaycar forums or something?

I have crappy xplod speakers and will be buying two pairs of their 6" Response splits, probably a 4x100wrms amp to run them... and an amp for my two subs. Eventually I'm going to upgrade to better Crossfire subs, Crossfire is the shizit! My 10" Crossfire DB dual voice coil pumps so hard and its voice coil is decently sized. It burns my mates $100 and $200 new pioneers, and I paid $20 in the box for it from cashies! =P Got it on a deal though, so yea...

AMC, Megatron can get cheap Jaycar gear (though you'd have to check the price of the amp at non-group buy price. Probably be cheaper than $300 though).

i think im gonna go with the Dclass jaycar amp. Its spot on the power i need for my current setup and as was mentioned it will give me heaps of room when it comes to upgrading.

Also no one really bad mouth jaycar, quite on the contrary i pretty much only saw high apprisals of the tehre products.

but now i gotta save up a bit more coz its sligthly out of my budget... o well... i get what i pay for... thnxz guys

I heard that the d class amps are very noisy when running.

Only if you have the gains up too high, a quality head unit/RCA plugs will solve that.

noisey as in engine interference.
$180 for hu and amp, guess that's alright. Would save you alot of money if you paid a member of AMC to do it.
