I used it on my seats.....its only good if nothing is constantly scrubbing up against it.
I know a mate of science's had gotten his whole car re-sprayed on the inside with vynal dye.....might wanna throw him a PM to see if he knows exactly what product it is?
for dash's and door card's etc id get the proper stuff the stuff from a can would fade and go all ghey

Yeah, works well on stuff that doesn't have to be touched...

thats ok then. I need to use it on dash and door trims. My other alternative is to 2pac finish it with a satin black finish (so that it looks like a satin black with a finish like the outside of the car (not glossy)
same problem of wear with touching applies. I like the idea more of vinyl dye as it is more natural looking in an interior.

if ya talkin bout sprayin interior vinyl, i used vinyl spray in a pressure pack, i just cleaned and masked the areas i wanted to do, layed about 3 layers of spray and then finished it with a clear coat in another preasure pack.
Had a lot of people rubbin against it and stuff and I had no wear on them at all up until the time i sold the car they were in.
btw. each pack cost me about $13- from my local Autobarn.

VHT Penetrating Color Dye - INFO HERE (http://www.caswellplating.com/vht/vht_spec.htm) (Second item down)
I've used this to great effect in 3 cars on the door and trim vinyl. Doesnt rub off, fade etc. Even good for dyeing carpet.

The VHT vinyl Dye works well as long as you prep it properly. I used prepsol on the dash with a fine scotch brite to get into the grain. Make sure its dry and use a heat gun or hair drier whilst spraying. Have resprayed a dash in it about 5 years ago and still looks great.
The only negative is if some bozo scratches it.
I wouldnt recommend doing door handles or seats or anything with constant rubbing.

Did my centre console lid today... took about 30 minutes to clean and prep and about 5 coats of satin black VHT vinyl dye... looks good too! I'm planning on spending most of tomorrow taking the front doors apart and doing the armrests and lower panels.
The main reason I'm doing this is because the black sheepies made the light grey centre console stick out like dogs balls. Now it seems everything matches much better.
I'll post pics tomorrow when it's all done.

nice :D
i'm looking at doing this in the future aswell, as i got stuck with the crappy grey interior plastics, and would much prefer the black (or black/grey 2-tone) so i was wondering if i'd be able to paint mine to look similar to the stock black items?
