Would a fan that pushes out 220CFM be usable as an electric supercharger?
Or would I need a fan that can put out more pressure?

*sobs uncontrolably*
those things suck. even the professionaly designed and built systems that have their own high cca battery to run them.

Oh this was just somehting I was going to build.

well 220CFM is still too low, you would need atleast 400 before any really noticable gains show up.

Even on a 2.6L astron?

a 2.6 astron at 100% ve and 6000RPM needs 275cfm.
now considering the astron is far from 100%ve and probably redlines at what... 5000?
at 80%ve and 5000rpm it needs 185cfm so there may be some boost from this fan. bolt it up and see. it might help you get to higher in the rev range quicker.

Humm I don't have the car at the moment, or the fan, this is just the planning stage.
So I could buy two of these fans and place then in parallel to dish up some small boost.

well i seriously doubt that you could hurt the engine with it... so go for it.
it takes 30bhp to push 7psi from an eaton m90 at 6000rpm. Have you seen how big a 30bhp electic motor is...and what amps would be required at 12v and the alternator to drive it.
If this type of SC worked the OEM's would be all over it like a 15yo and a playboy magazine.

you might gain 0.x of a kw atw's.... but you'll find any gain will simply be off put by the extra weight of it lol

Here's a wacky suggestion...
Buy one of those 1.5HP compressors from supercheap. Feed your car compressed air in 'shots'.
I wonder how long the air would last.
(I told you it was way out!)

Hehe, well I figured it would be an easy way to make sure my engine is always getting enough air.... And a small performance boost, and at 68DB it would sound cool when I turned it on.
