Hey guys/gals, if u have read mi profile u will see that i have a Response Mblock installed already.... only one set of RCA's through the car..... there was no static goin to through the rca's and into mi sub.
Today i added a 4ch amp to the setup.... i used the same rca that was already through the car, and used the rca out put off the 4ch to go to the mblock. Now im getting static through the speakers off the 4ch..... would someone be able to tell me why all of a sudden i have static coming through the rca's wen i didnt before, keeping in mind that i havent re-run the rcas just unplugged them from the mblock and into the 4ch....
RCA leads are RF(rockford fosgate) btw... with the wire for amp remote to the HU running down the centre of the RCA's.
Does anyone kno y?

its possibly a prob with the response mono which had a problem with whine iirc. If this is the case they will replace it for you fairly easily.
Otherwise it could be your rcas running near a power wire when you installed the other amp, or a poor ground on the new amp. Ensure the ground is thick and short and making good contact with the chassis

Or it could be that you have the sensitivity turned up too high on the 4 channel amp. Try turning it down abit to see if that helps.

If i turn the gain down on the 4 ch why have an amp at all??? It may be the ground for the 4 ch, as i have the ground from the Mblock going through the Capacitor, and i plugged the ground from the 4 ch into the same cap as the mblock....

ground should be going to the chassis directly, you may be getting ground loop.
is the ground for the 4 channel going to the same point as the ground for the monoblock? it is important that it does.
there may have been line noise off the rca's n the monoblock, it just isnt all that easy to pick up through a woofer.
even with a new amp, the rca's may have been damaged. try running the amp in a mates car or something to test if it still has a noise problem.
hope that helps

i ran a new set of rca's in and plugged them into the 4 ch. It didnt help... and now i am noticing noise in the sub too..... so maybe its the power wiring to the 4 ch.... its coming off a distribution block....
the setup is like this - capacitor to the distblock-distblock branches 8G to 4ch and 4G to Mblock.
Earth from Mblock goes to cap - Earth from 4ch goes to cap.

only the positive should be going to the cap, the caps ground should go to the chassis and the amps ground should go to the chassis.
im not the biggest pro in wiring caps up. im not really a fan of them as they dont fix anything and only seem to cause problems.
but id try rewiring it like i've mentioned. (or getting rid of the cap)
peace

if he has the cap grounded to the body with a phat 0ga cable or something it would be fine, but if the cap is only grounded to the chassis with 4ga or something youve got problems.

So you have to turn the dial on the headunit abit more lol. At least you MAY get rid of the interference as the interference wont increase with volume.
