hey i just wanna check if most pr magnas are the same
my mrs has a tr and ive noticed that when its at operating temp if you drop it from park to drive or reverse it drops all the way down to 500 but then it shoots up to 700 or so would the ISC motor maybe need a clean or somehing
when its cold it idles faster like 1600rpm i thnik thats because i adjusted the idle and it will only respond when its cold but when its hot it just drops straght back to normal
i have tried adjusting the idle but it doesnt respond to what i do
its just really annoying cause it vibrates so much 2.6 efi 180000ks auto 92

Yup...sounds like a ICS problem....i had the same problems....if not worse.....car rpm with go up and down and so low at time that engine would stall.....
then isn't a real way to clean it or repair that i know of.....i had to get a reconditioned one from repco and after fixing it......alls good...its quite a common problem actually

well if its not the ics motor and urs is a atuo then it would be the TPS a( throttle position sensor).

Thers more to adjustin the idle than you think. Would you like me to scan the relevant section of the factory manual for ya? :D

The cold idle speed device ans idle speed control motor are two seperate things. If you have a bad hot idle it is not related to cold idle.
To check the ISC, turn AC on flat out, car in drive and turn steering wheel. Doing any of these things should see idle drob VERY slightly and come back up to where it was. If it doesn't, it's the ISC motor. I have seen them on Ebay for under $100, but Nardek in Sydney has em for around $120, which is about half Mitsubishi price. Just buy a new one, it's worth it.
And reset your idle speed by teh workshop manual.
Regards, Andrew.
