Ive just put on a K&N pod filter. Only took about 10 minutes to put it on and about an hour to make up a bracket to support it.

Ive only put it where the exsiting filter used to be but ill eventully do a proper cai and mount it near the front bar.

Doesnt seem to make much difference but ive only driven it for about 10 minutes. Doesnt seem to be a flat spot that ive heard about or was that the panel filter. Exhaust note seems a little different but that could be my imagination.

Got it pretty cheaply second off clarion magna. Thanks.

Ill be giving it a proper drive on the weekend.

All youve managed to do is decrease the performance of your car. The reason you arent feeling any decreases in performance yet is because as you said, youve only driven it for 10 minutes. Wait till the engine and underbonnet warm up enough. Then you should see some of those cool performance decreases..

Put the stock filter back in until you can relocate it.

Or at least some sort of heat shielding (like in the way of a custom made box).
As Bain said take it for a half hour drive, then boot it. See what happens :).

They make your intake quiet basically. I removed mine in my TR. Made it sound good at first, but you get sick of the constant droaning with the intake....well i did anyway, and it was ruining the nice note my hiflow muffler was producing.

Get someone to mandrel bend a whole section relocating the filter down to your bar and get a filter-sock so it doesn't suck up water. Anyone know if those things actually work well?
