ok decided to take the advice and got me some splits, i mounted the x over as pictured should be alright??? since the pic i've mounted it usd and you can adjust the x over without removing the door trim....

how bloody hard is it to get the wires through the door thingy... i looked around under the dash and didnt have time, but it's a bit better than the kenwoods.... although it's still on the std h/u :(

to fit the first side it took 3 hrs all up cos i busted the power window cable... long story but i was being silly lol

the 2nd side from start to finnish took 10min all up... not including mounting tweeter...

it takes about 30sec to remove door trim 3 screws and rip it off

Nice! Where did you end up putting the tweeters?

Yeah they will sound much better with a new headunit. :)

Put the kenwoods in the back.. that's what i will do with my pioneers 6" speakers that i had in the front... It will do for back fill. Its just so the rear passengers can hear the music over the bass and exhaust. hahahhaa

where in the rear? isnt that what the 6x9's are for in the shelf?

as for the tweeters i have cunningly mounted them with self adh hook and loop tape (velcro Velcro is a tm, like pannaol and paracetemol for example... ok too much info), till i find the loction i like and think sounds the best, then i'll butcher the bugger to get them in...

Yes in the rear where the old 6x9 were. Just get a peice of MDF and cut out a frame for the speakers. Then you can screw the MDF where the speakers were, and the speakers onto the MDF.

that looks ok man, but did you have to drill through the plasic when you mounted them there? because if you did and then move them you'll be left with an nice little hole
