hey ppl,

just sharing, :D that i got my dual exhausts done las week.
Split the piping into a Y-piece above the rear axle, and then 2 SRT straight thru mufflers, with stainless steel tips.

Thought of cuttin the rear bar to have the tips come str8 out, but couldn't be bothered with tryin to cut the bar really accurately, let alone heat moulding it, and the cost of such, so just got the dump-pipe look.

Finally got the sound really deep and not too loud, coz i din want it roaring. Basically silent at idle, and can hardly hear it at freeway cruising speeds. It's a lil loud in the cabin tho, on acceleration, and i can imagine that's gonna get a bit old. Does ne one know how to combat that???

I feel like i've picked up a small about of power, but havent got a before and after dyno to see that.

Cost me $500 all up.

:D :D

Pix below, comments welcome.

there's sum controversy over the gain or loss of power with this mod, but undoubtedly, if u just free the muffler, i think u can expect to see gains of several KW.

Very Similar to my setup but I have bigger tips and Staniless Steel. Good work mate, I like :)

Guess I must be more of a "Show Pony"...

Hmmm....thought about the straight tips, but apart from the hassle of having the bar professionally cut or heat-moulded, i thought i don want the car to look hotted up. Much more a fan of the 'wolf-in-sheep's-clothing' look. :D

That's fair enough, but i don't really see any other reason for getting dualies apart from, "Hey look at me i got dualies!". If you wanted the subtle approach you'd just get a single system that sounded nice i would have thought... but anyway  for the dualies mate, i'm envious.

Nice dualies! I love cars with twin exhausts.
Wish I'd got them (exhaust place said it'd cost too much and I didn't ask how much) :doubt: Oh well, maybe next time. :D

yeah, i got several quotes for this, and a bloke in Geelon that did Brendan's (JET-BLK), quoted me 350 plus tips. But couldnt get down there coz of work.

But i did get a cpl quotes above the 700 mark as well, so my advice is shop around, and try get someone who's willing to play around with it a lil, to get the right sound etc that u want.
