Hi

Does anyone know the size of the front speakers in the doors for the 2003 TJII wagon?

Are they 4, 6 or 6.5"? They look like 6 or 6.5".

There is a huge angled tube which goes from the speaker to the door speaker grill.

Thinking of Jaycar Response Kevlar 6 or 6.5", any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

They are 6.5" but i guarrentee if you buy 6 or 6.5" speakers they'll need different screw holes (easy fix). I have those splits in my front doors and they sound alright. Though Would really need an amp to get them going i would think.

The response splits fit perfectly. But you have to drill new mounting holes. Its easy to do and takes about 5 mins.

In my TF i had to remove the rubber covers on the magnets otherwise the windows rubbed against them when wound down.

Its funny the amount of people who think the fronts are 6.5inch.. they are only 6inch and that is why you need to drill new holes. 6inch are a straight fit and you can use the existing holes but I use different screws ( longer ).

Jaycar are good, will not be loud off headunit power. If you plan to run them off your headunit I would look elsewhere. Perhaps the Hertz ESK-165's which go for the same price. Much higher sensitivity and can soak up about 70WRMS if you decide to amp them. The Hertz will have much better mid bass.

They have separate xovers for woofer and tweeter which means if you want you can power the woofers off the rear outputs and the tweeters off the front for 40WRMS a side without an external amp. :D
