hey all,
right now i want to kill some people, i was pleasant to **** spack at pedders who reckons i've got chopped springs, and that my car is dangerous and that i shouldve had an accident. I asked a few questions and i quote "i don't give a flying ****" ie how would it handle brilliantly if i had chopped springs... i hate some people, he was just an example bla bla... not worth it

Anyway my questions relate to, how the **** wouldnt i notice if i have chopped springs?? my car used to handle smooth as a mofo, but yes my apparent king springs superlows are not powdercoated yellow and have been bottoming out on each other as my bumpstops are ****ed.

It was a bit bumpy but not any harsher than any other cars that have been lowered. Also i was under the perception that cutting the springs were not rewound... as the springs at the top are flat and not sitting on a single point. I also asked if it would pass a roadworthy test and he said no; any mechanic would pick it up it past 3 roadworthys and 1 at a trusted mechanic.

The funny thing is basically for the 2k$ worth of quote to fix it needs new springs, shocks and bushes and there's no way i can see that coming to 2k$ and involving by the looks of things 8hrs of labour

peace out

edit; also heard them revving my car and yelling "feel the power hahaha" wtf i didn't see no current 6L v8's or anything faster in sight

lol it's peddars mate, i have known 2 family members that have gone to DIFFERENT peddars stores and both have nearly been ripped off (funily enough about $2k to replace 4 springs, struts and the rubber thingys). Did he try the, "You have to get this done i can't let you leave" speech?

Wow... I would have told them to get out of my car in a very violent manner and left. Why did Pedders rev your car? They have no reason to accellerate over 1500rpm since they only do suspension don't they? You could probably try to sue them if you had another adult there for abusing your vehicle uneccessarily, or find out where they live and mess his car up. I take legs for scratches in my paint =)

I hate people who do this sorts thing when they are spose to be working on your car, my mate left his GTi'R with a shop to get a FMIC installed and 3 weeks later gets a spedding fine with a picture of someone driving his car doing 180kp/h when it was suppose to be parked in a shop!

Pricks...

here's some humble pie, they're chopped (top work jase!) but yeah the bridgestone guys who im happy with reckon they see it heaps and its not that bad (ie slaughtering animals for your cult, or you'll be the fault for every death in an impending accident).

So im replacing them asap and they also (bridgestone) think that pedder's quoted is nearly double the price it should be.

They also believe the ride height could be the reason for my grinding noise as its damaging the driveshafts due to the large angle. The DOHC is a lot heavier than the sohc so that caused it to sit even lower...

So now i have to buy some superlow's and probably new shockers, then a new driveshaft... unless the auto gto one fits which i doubt (though i think theyll be close).

I'll just get the fronts first, cars ****ing suck (no money atm). Get safety checks before you buy, i need beer.

Pfft...Pedders..:P

I took my falcon to one in Qld for a check and he told me all my shocks were stuffed.

So I showed him the 2 month old receipt for a full shock replacement done in darwin by................ooooopsy Pedders and told him I wanted new ones fitted free then.

Funny he wasnt so sure they were completely stuffed then, tough for him I insisted.

Nice new new shocks, and he didnt have the ones I had bought so he had to fit the upmarket sets.

Pedders 0.........Ye Oldy Farty 1.........dont **** with an Ol' Fart.. :D

Pedders quoted me $195 for a wheel alignment and tyre rotation (including balancing)... I called Jax and asked for exactly the same thing... $78 ($66 for alignment, and $6 a piece to balance the new fronts). Pedders will never see my money after over quoting like that.

I reckon we should have a cruise, about 20 magna's turn up outside this pedders place and everyone bring a passenger, around 40 magna people, then ask the idot if its normal to rev your engine when getting qoutes for suspension.

Make sure we wear leather, do our hair all oldskool and anyone with tatoos wear singlets. :js:

I have a sick humour sometimes, but when I hear people being ripped off I seriously think about punishing em. :nutkick:

Reminds me of the pedders store in slacks creek, they wanted $800 for front struts!!! Whats up with that??? :disgusted

i paid 900 for some sports rider shocks all round and 2 new bump stops .. ****ing rip off. Only went there because I didn't have time to shop around and I needed to get it fixed as my car was bouncing all over the place

Then when I got the car back they swapped my rear tyres to the front and vice versa (this is after i just had a wheel alignment and check by buyitdirect) and tightend the wheel nuts so hard i couldn't even get them off with a torque wrench!! Lucky I was attempting to take my wheels off at home so I could spray my calipers and not stranded somewhere trying to change a flat! ... idiots

am i the only person to EVER get a good deal out of Pedders? we lowered my mates falcon to an inch of its life, with new short body shocks front and rear and super lows, all new. springs 55 each.
shocks 120 each.
fitted them our selfs

Kinda puzzled as to who you might be referring to there, Ice. Most of the posts in this thread are about shoddy service and quotes from a particular service provider, and only one mentions anything that might even be construed as violent or vindictive which included, and I quote, "I have a sick humour sometimes..."

Surely we are entitled to mention how good/bad/indifferent any service provider is, if only to provide others with our experiences in order to help them make an informed decision.

It's ok AJ, he was referring to posts I deleted which had nothing to do with you. It got a little heated that's all mate. As you were soldier :)

If they rev your car while you are there, imagine what they will do to it when you are gone.

wow maybe I won't take my car to pedders to get my sways done, it sounds like most of them are pretty shod. is Jax any better? any other places that would be worth having a look see?

ps I'm the only one that has the right to Rev my car! no mechanic can, I can't believe they did that while you were standing there
