Not really as good as if it had a bend on the end to scoop the air. Get a little piece of plumbing corner pipe stuff from bunnings and whack it on the end of that pipe and youre golden.

U need to cut bit of that plastic off to enable the pipe to continue down and towards the front. Cut little first so u don't cut too much first go. Desgin your cut so that the pipe will rest on it. Is the pipe smooth inside or ribbled like the outside is?

Beautiful color - adds 2 kW!

It's ribbed, I got the exact same pipe, even the red, which was a mistake. Mine fit perfectly, only needed to snap off fan wire clip. IDK why yours doesn't go further. Mine joins into the bottom of the stock CAI with a bracket. It's posted here http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37867&page=2&highlight=cai

just cut the stupid bit of plastic out of the way. I did.

Then eventually it fell off anyway because I have a tendency to drive too fast into car parking spots and mount the gutter a little.

personally thats pretty much how mine is, so i doubt you will notice anything extra through trying to ram air into the ribbed piping... i believe they work more on the isolation on the colder air from down near the front bar.

i'm not sure if its mentioned yet, (in other threads or whatever), but if you have a manual, you can keep the stock intake pipe, n plumb the hose into the bottom of the front part of the airbox, before the air filter...

also, (just a suggestion), maybe just cable tie a lil peice of fly wire over the end so u dont scoop/suck up crap off the road

I call that a Squirrel Catcher.
U mean like mozzie screen stuff? Very restrictive. Better use thin wire/gauge metal mesh instead. Might be difficult to find, but some office paper bins are made of wire :)

Just a quick question about CAI's.

A mate and I did a similar thing to his EF Falcon - replaced the air box with a K&N Pod Filter and directed a pipe from the front bumper opening onto the pod. It felt a bit more punchy but after a few minutes the car started to randomly stall. The only thing i could think of was that the factory air flow meter didn't know why there was suddenly a massive increase in air flow and just shut the car down. Was just wondering, when you attach a CAI, do you need to remap the factory CPU?

hey just noticed tonystemagna. with the custom piping to the frontbar. i was wondering does it make any difference in using the oval pod instead of the round pod in this application and also about pod sizes. does it make any difference
