Hi guys, today I've changed the plastic bit in my front doors and replaced it with MDF (got the idea from this forum!) - now i'm after any good easy ideas for how to prevent water damaging my speaker as currently its just speaker on mdf with no protection at the back.
I'm also going to paint the MDF and possibly try to make one of those angled baffles that have been featured here (does it make much difference?!)

To anyone that hasn't done this MDF thing i highly recommend it!!! Very easy job and results are fairly good :)

i just bought a set of stock angled plastic pods off Mr_VRX, going to reinforce them with fiberglass and they'll be just as good as the mdf, with a neater fit :) then cover them in Dynamat extreme and youve got yourself an awesome combination.

yeah I was wondering if just putting a THICK coating or 2 of the liquid deadener would do the same job as MDF, and I would get to keep the good angle and snug fit of the factory pod...

not sure about liquid deadeners, never used them myself, but it would surely help. ill be putting 2 or 3 layers or fiberglass matting onto mine, which will be solid as hell, then probably using closed cell foam or gasket goo around the edges of it to ensure no leaks.

Paint it with Bondcrete on bare MDF
