Just wondering what it has cost people to colour code the sides on a 3rd gen. Not the strip on the side, the lower bit. I got qouted around $500. Thought it was a little steep.

$500? OUCH!
Should cost you no more than $200, even then it's pretty exy considering it's just a flat piece of plastic to spray, prob take them an hour at most and $5 worth of paint.
