right heres the problem......i cracked one rim and bought a new one....BUT got the offset wrong.....so my front rim has one thats more "OUT" then the other.....

So the question is whether its possible to machine down that one to match the other? In Victoria please.:bowrofl:

It's possible, but i'm sure it's highly illegal. Take the wheel back and get it swapped for the right offset maybe?

another option is to get spacers for the other wheels

but both is illegal. go back and swap the rim for the right off set. the place that you bought the rim from should have known the right off set.

where did you get it from?

The tyre factory...the thing is, the new rim offset is just nice for the front.....because my original rims offset were too wide and the tyre is just further out the guard....thats why i dare not go superlow front as it would surely hit the tyre...

I actually now thinking of using my tax return and buy another rim with the same offset as my "new" one....then I can have a mag rim spare tyre:D sigh...thinking thinking....

also thinking of geting spacers.....just gotta get the offset right. anyone has used spacers before? how is it?

My rims are secondhand - slightly wrong offset. They sit perfect in the rear but stick slightly out at the front.
I asked a wheel repair/restoration place if they can be machined. They said they could do it - would need the rims for a few days and it'd cost around $75 per rim.
Still thinking too...

It would be a lot cheaper if you take it to your local metal engineering place, shouldn't take them long to machine them down a bit.

Yeah tried that - 2 places - both didn't want the job.
One said it was too much effort for a one-off job & the other didn't want the risk of something going wrong later causing an accident.

As per the ADRs, you CANNOT have different offset rims without an engineers certificate unless your car came with them (like porsche's). You need to get 4 rims that are the same, not two and two.

where is the place? i can't really spare the 300 for the extra rim....even 75 sounds good
