I was driving home last night and drove over a small bump and my headunit cut out. I kept driving drove other another bump and it came back on. I thought it was just a loose wire because when it cut out i could just tap the side of the center console and it would come back on.

I checked all the wiring today and nothing is loose. Could this be an internal problem on the headunit or something not so serious. Any ideas on what else i could check. Its a JVC kdsx995 and is about 2 years old.

Hmmms just means SOMETHING is loose (obviously). Could be a few things:
- Somethings loose inside the actual head unit
- The face of the headunit might not be clipped in properly
- Power wires aren't connected properly and/or ground wire not securely connected to chasis.

I had a similar problem. Headunit would cut out periodically.
Turned out it was the connections between the head unit and the face plate.
Gave them a clean up and it hasn't given me a problem ever since

If its under warranty I would take it back to where you got it from. :D Being 2 years old it wont be unless you purchased extended warranty.

Nah its not under any warrent anymore. It could be the face is not connecting properly. Ill try playing around with that the next time it cuts out.

Thanks for that.
