just go and buy a k&n panel filter. saves alot of stuffing around in the long run. all you do is just replace it with the paper filter you got now. i've got one at the moment and i can say that there is alittle improvement in the encomony to.

I picked one up from a QLD meet last night, and after putting it in my car today(the panel filter) it feels more responsive, but put that foot down and it loves the airflow it has now.

i agree wat said above no much diff between k & n pod and panel except the noise. and u dont want that noise coz u'll just get sum unwanted attention form the boys in bluelol. and panel is cheaper than pod. and as for any other mod try search button and find wat more do u want for ur car:think:
Its a good upgrade to start with. Also its one of the few upgrades that you can do yourself. CAI is also pretty easy. You can run it to just below the left fog lamp or to the gap between the radiator and headlamp on left hand side of the car infront of the battery box. Refer to the article by greenmatt on n "easy TL CAI".
