recently ( like the last month) everytime i get out of the car... and sometimes even in the car i get the smell of fuel going through the car...

at first i thought it was the k&n panel filter i put on it so i removed it but still no difference. im still getting the smell...

theres no fuel leaking....

has it been extra hot where u are lately ?
have you been driving it extra hard ?/

if its only a very faint smell i wouldnt worry to much, but if its really strong id first check all your fuel lines for cracks / splits or loose fittings.

TB ( throttle Body ) for loose fittings.

I got this once on a VN Commode.
I ony found it with the engine running i.e. fuel pump operating. The fuel rail was leaking where the hose clamped on.

Check the engine while it's running.

Have to admit, both my KH and KJ AWD smell like fuel outside on a hot day.

Also, i towed a caravan the other day with the KH on a cold day but was working it a bit and it had a very strong fuel smell from round the engine bay and also out exhaust.

Anyone know what this might be? I wasnt driving with the van on hard for the last 20 mins of the drive but it still smelt like fuel.

Any ideas?

May or may not be relevent: I had a distinct smell of fuel appear on my Ralliart a few months back. Turned out it was the fuel filter.

Replaced the fuel filter and no further problems.

If all checks out well in fuel lines and filter, check the petrol cap is secure after the run.

Also check down at the charcoal canister and the rubber pipes, check for splits or cracked canister. Funny things do happen.

Hope this helps.

Same for me.. replaced fuel filter and it was fine.
I think the fuel smell in warmer weather is quite common.
