just wondering if anyone has had any problems with their door speakers? i have a 99 TH Magna Sports, and when i pulled my door panel off to replace them with some pioneer 3 ways, i found the stock speaker which was welded to a metal plate and then screwd in on the plate. so i pulled the speaker out and put mine up against the plastic peice and found it was no where near the stockies, has anyone else had this problem and how have you overcome this? also how are you supposed to get those annoying clips off, i ended up just cutting them off.

I had the same thing on my TF. What i did was cut out an aluminium plate about 15 cm long an 2 cm wide. Drilled 3 holes in it. 2 on each side and 1 in lower middle. Screwed the plate in the 2 existing holes on the top. And then the speaker went in the middle hole. This lowered the position of the speaker and i drilled another hole at the bottom of the plastic. The speaker does sit on 2 screwes only but cause of the taughnes of the alluminium plate it sits very secure.
And what clips r u talking about??? I didn't have to cut anything on my door

i might give that a try thanks, and sorry i didn't mean clips on the door, i meant the big black plastic clips on the back of the speakers. i probably should have gone into more detail in my post but thanks.

well they r not exactly splits but a seperate 2 way speakers. They pump hard though and cause they r not splits they sound good just running of the h/u instead of an amp.
As for the speaker they are Piooneer TS-C1602

Oh yeah i'm sure there's other ways of doin it. i just thought i'll share my install with the world lol i didn't expect u to have access to heavy machinery, like lathe and stuff like that, to cut out an alluminium frame. U know u can try to make a litle frame out of mdf. Like the one that is attached to the stock speakers.

I have a TH Sports and my factory speakers were just a pull out and swap. They were simply screwed to the factory plastic baffle...
Not quite sure what this metal frame is you are talking about...
