I'm looking into changing my TH bonnet and grill with the TJ counterparts.. Does any body know what is involved in fitting them?.. would i need to change my bonnet lock or is it just a straight swap.

My car has unfortunately been hit by another car on the side and since it going to be an ensurance repair job i was thinking of paying a little extra for the TJ parts rather repairing the car with the TH parts..

Has anybody attempted this before? any suggestions?

dont see it as being hard at all.

as uv already figured out, all you'll need is a bonnet and grill (and TJ bumper too)

afaik, bonnet lock is the same, though u may need to get a new plastic surround for the lock mechanism.

I'm pretty sure I read the TH and TJ bumpers are the same.

yeah bumpers are the same, although i read somewhere the black wiper plenum is different?

so does that mean a normal TE would require the bumper as well just for this convert?

Looks like i'll be going ahead with it then.. Last time somebody hit the rear of my car i fitted the TJ bootlid and rear lights... so i'll guess i will have a full TJ look-a-like TH :)

You do need to change the Lock Mark H down here did this conversion and he had to change the bonnet lock

Ohh.. ok so does the lock sit on the same existing mounting holes as the TH or would i need to modify the radiator support? :confused:

I think it will look good mate, better than what I saw at the shops on monday. A S13 200SX with the bonnet, head lights and front bumper of an S15. Didn't look rite...

The lock is different too i have done this to a TH awhile ago

For TH to TJ conversion, you need bonnet, grill and lock. All bolts up to same holes. Easy!

I rang around yesterday and i was quoted $170 for a second hand bonnet with no damage what so ever and $120 for a verada grill so it was cheaper than i thought it would be... ohh and the lock is only $35 ...so i'm booking my car in for next week

I've had the TH for 2 years now so i think it's time to give it a face lift.. he he plus TJ's look a little nicer...
