Ok, so I knew I had to do something a little different for autosalon, so I decided to go find the fluffiest, softest fur fabric, and line my boot with it.

And boy did it get some attention! You would be amazed at how many people wanted to touch my fluff!! It was a great eye catcher, and then everyone noticed the boot mod and proceeded to try and work out how it was done.

Had quite a few comments and plenty of pics taken.. And it wasnt just attractive to the ladies, the guys loved it too!

Gotta thank everyone who supported the fluff, and of course to temagna for the idea of the flip boot mod.. im still surprised there aint more out there.. but after AS Newy, Im sure there will be alot more showing up!

Did you fibreglass the panels, or is it just straight MDF panels with the fluff fabric layed all over it lightly giving it a curvey looking contour?

The straight panels are mdf.. the curve around the back is the stock carpet.. no fibreglass.. the funny lookin part on the right which I have cleverly hidden is a battery box.. still trying to work out a way to neatly put some curvey piece over that.

I thought the same thing.. Im waiting for the day when it all goes up in flames but where it sits around the amps it doesnt seem to cause a problem at all. The monoblock has an internal fan, and the 4 channel didnt seem to get hot at all!
I guess time will tell.. just wait for the thread in 4 weeks saying that my car burnt to the ground hehe

Thanks dude.. I was going for practicality.. although the fluff isnt really practical, even with all that stuff in there I can still lift the floor and get at my spare without a screwdriver, or undoing anything!

The gear was pretty expensive retail.. I ended up importing it all from the US as it ended up being a saving of $2500 off retail, and $700 off the best price an authorised dealer would do.

But yeh, the gear was the most expensive part.. But as for the install..
$50 on mdf
A heap of old cardboard boxes to make templates
$80 on black carpet (all black under the fur)
$160 on Fur
$6 on hinges
And voila!!

Now thats super pimp i love it and i didn't realise how easy the flip boot mod was, might try it out.

Hey Mysti, do you have any problems with your flip boot? Such as it being incredibly wobbly when opening and closing the boot, and it not closing properly at the back? It's just that I did this mod and had both these problems so I changed it back, wondering if you had a solution.

Hey ben.. I did it for her and she aint got got any issues.. There is two bolts holding it in to normal or flip style.. Leave the two bolts in and its a normal everyday boot.. remove the two bolts and it becomes a flip built..:P m All alighns nicely after a minor adjustment when first installed..:)
