ok so ive got my TR
SOHC 8v 4G54

right, now next weekend im getting SOHC 12v 6G72, some ppl have said that it wont fit, some ppl have said different things, im just wondering, if i recondition and clean and make the 6G72 work, will it fit?

you'll have to root around with engine mounts i believe as the 2 engines had different mounting points.

easier and cheaper (probably) way is to source a V6 2nd gen in the 1st place. the stuffing around to get that engine in your car wouldnt be worth it as it doesnt have all the much power anyway.

Well you'll need to get the engine mounts moved. So that'll be a professional job as it also has to be engineered for roadworthyness. You'll also need everything for the V6 ECU, the TCU if it's auto as I've got a feeling there is a difference in the 4 and 6 cyl auto control units, the aircon, possibly the steering rack and pump system.

I can't believe you haven't looked into this already if you're even vaguely considering doing the convertion:doubt:.

i was offered the engine today... havent really had the time to look into it, thats why im asking
