Noticed a couple of issues with the rear passenger side door on my KJ Verada the other day.
Normally, the interior lights go on when any of the doors are opened but when the rear passenger side door is opened all interior lights stay off.
Also, if you try and lock the car with the remote the horn beeps twice and the doors/boot lid do not lock themselves if they are ajar (which is normal). If however the rear passenger side door is ajar the horn will not beep and the door will lock its self.
So i'm thinking these electrical issues are related somehow but what do I look for? The power window in the rear passenger side door works without a problem if that makes a diff.

The switch in the door is not earthing to the body when the door is opened. Repair or replace the switch.
If however the rear passenger side door is ajar the horn will not beep and the door will lock its self.
As above, the door switch is not earthed - so the car thinks the door is closed. Repair or replace the switch.

It's probably the the little black thing that senses whether the door is open or closed. It is probably stuck and therefore the car thinks the door is always closed. Our KJ Verada currently has the exact same problem on the exact same door. Unlock the car and play with the little black thing (which covers some kind of switch/sensor), if the light turns on at any time it is probably the black plastic seal over it sticking to the switch inside of the cover. If not it may need replacing (the sensor/switch).

Dislodge the rubber boot and flood the thing with WD40, might have collected water inside.

Thanks for the info guys. I played around with the switch and everything worked like its supposed to for a while then it went back to misbehaving. I'll try the WD-40 but if it doesn't work then i guess i'll just buy a new switch if it's so cheap.
