which amp should i go for to power the fronts and rears

i have respone kevlar splits 60w rms and matching 6x9's 80wrms

im either going to go for the response 4 x 100w or the 4 x 50w amp..

what would be better?? im thinking the 4 x 50 cos its cheaper but still has plenty of power.. but will the 4x 100 kill the speakers..

if you go with the 50x4 then you should be good, still outputs a decent amount of power and runs your speakers under power which is a good thing, but if you were to go for the 100x4 then you would have to set your gains down so you dont over power your speakers which will kill them faster. but yeah i would go with the 50x4 for sure :D.

I would got the 4x100W. This leaves room for upgrading later. Also means you can use the speakers to their full potential. You wont blow them up, you just turn the gain down on the amp.

i agree with the last post, wont be long till you are looking at getting new different set of splits and the more power u have for there the better

it isnt a good thing.. giving a 100W speaker a 2000W amp is a good thing.. lower powered amp just means your driving the amp harder to produce power, the more powerful the amp, the less effort it uses to exert the same power as a smaller amp, the less harmonic distortion and chance of clipping you get. and the less coloured your sound will be, in theory.

Go the 4x100 mate, you can pump a nice clean 80WRMS into the rears and keep the fronts on about half, my setup is similar to that and anyone whos heard it can vouch that its pretty deafning.....especially if you have the money, if you were on a real budget id say get the 50x4WRMS but if you have the $$ get the bigger one, just saves a ton of mucking around later on when you want to upgrade amp's
And as Woob said, the amps under less stress;)

hmmm yeah i guess your right. just thought about it abit more and if you were to get the 100x4 watt amp then you should be fine but only if the gains and crossovers are set right.

Or you could buy the 4x 50W amp and run your front stage active with a custom Xover.... :D Just to mix things up a little :bowrofl:
