well basically i have an 03 verada ( GTVi ) and last night it just *cough* started *cough *to sound like a dam truck.

When i put the car in tippy mode it's much less noticeable.

When the car is in auto and you put your foot down it sounds like a truck is underneath the car weird part is when its in "N" and then you rev the car you cant here it.

It seems as though it only happens while being underload eg in "D" what would cause this? has any1 else had this happen b4

i had the same problem man. its the exhaust. theres a pipe which joins the front and rear headers which goes into the cat. its that pipe which is stuffed.

ill see if i can find a pic for ya.

Does it sound like a rattle?

this happend to me in my te, i went down to rpw and got myself a set of extractors to fix it. but you can just buy the collector pipe from a wreckers of somewhere like that

Depending on where the exhaust leak is there is the possibility of the escaping hot gases melting wiring or damaging other plastic parts.

There is also the possibility of exhaust gases finding their way into the cabin and giving carbon mon oxide poisoning.

You need to at least to find where the leak is.

Had the same problem in our VP, but it was because I ut the rubber exaust mount on sideways.

id say get it done asap man. when it happened to me my car ran like ****. power loss to the max (well not really but i noticed it) and got it fixed that same week thanks to slickTH for providing me with the part.

go down to your local wreckers and pick on up for like $50 or so and later on down the track get extractors.

I'd be visiting a Mitsubishi dealer asap if your car is under warranty.

yeh car has done 135K+ so no warrenty
