I set out to properly install my front speakers..

Up until now they have been held by one screw and some metal wire.

So sunday i got the wood.. cut it out into the right shape.. Drilled the holes... and admired my work!

See my dad is a french polisher by trade. Has worked with wood all his life........... So you would think that maybe just maybe i would have got some of his knowledge and know how when making things considering he had made most of the furnature in the house.

Wrong!

I am left with 2 peices of demented 1cm thick Wooden fire starters that dont line up dont fit and look like something just out of primary school.

I call it art..

So heres my question.. anyone know where i can get this installed without any more hassles!!

Anyone here good at cutting and drilling holes? wanna do it for me?

(Oh and my dad cant do anything with wood anymore.. hes an old man..)

I have wood. i just need someone to drill and cut..
im so lame..

Um is 1cm too thick for the door..

your speakers should screw directly into the doors with no problems at all!!!

just pull the door trim off - take out the old speaker - insert he new one and screw away - you can fit 6" and 6.5" in the doors in the factory locations from memory!!

I have 6.5" and i KNOW they fit no probs

my 6" didnt fit cuz it was square(stock) wasnt it?

so wat we did was took the old speakers out but screwed the new speakers over the stock grill thingo...

does dat make sense??

blazian_princess Your 100% right :)

The holder for the speakers is indeed square and the new speakers are round..

And you did make sence.. I came home tonight compared them again and thought a few holes would make it fit :P

But again it aint what i wanted but its cheap and does the job!

I wouldave liked to have made it properly as ive read in other posts about putting wood in your door and sealing the rest up.. but i think for me its just a bit too much :)

Oh and manual some of us are born lucky :P hehe everything works for you damnit!! but thanks for the help/reply! :P
