Reading a few older threads about the TE having a useless pulley that is prone to making a grinding noise, just wondering which of the pulleys in the image attached is the pulley I am supposed to remove? and what needs to be adjusted etc...
Old thread I was reading:

Thanks in advance :)

It's probably the pulley in between the air con compressor and the alternator.
I'm not sure if Mitsubishi actually removed it in later models though, as the photo I've attached is of the last 6G74 produced locally.

If you compare the pulley that I've circled to the pulley in between the alternator and the A/C compressor, you'll see that the positioning is perfect...

I think perhaps the circling is to show that the "tensioner" from the first post is still there? As the AC etc isn't there in the second pic, one would have to guess, but I'd say the "pulley" is the one removed?
That's the way I compared it, anyway. To me, the motor posted shows the "crankshaft pulley", "tensioner", and "alternator" from pic1, so if anything was removed, it must be one of the others, which by deductive reasoning would mean the "pulley" for mine, as it's the only superfluous part.

That's exactly right. Sorry if it didn't seem obvious what I was trying to get at...

So "Pulley" is the one I should be looking at?

Possibly, thought don't quote me for sure. Has anyone got a drivebelt diagram for the 2.4?

Yep. Just pull it off (14mm bolt) and tighten up the belt. Make sure you do up the belt reasonably tight otherwise they make an annoying noise.
