I bought a TE a few weeks ago...
It has cruise control, central locking, immobiliser, manual windows, tape deck, non climate control, automatic
Just wandering which model it is...its a 3L V6...is that a common or standard kit on that car? I know those wheels (17" alloy are aftermarket). It has no badges on the rear as you can see...
Any help?

Yeh thats a standard kit mate, and it would be a 96 Te executive by the sounds of it!!
but you already know that as your sig states, nice buy and good luck with it, any mods planned?

AFAIK the Exec didnt have cruise control.
Yeh but it still could have been added as an option. Advance had elec windows and an airbag i think. Exec doesn't have an airbag.

AFAIK the Exec didnt have cruise control.
so does that mean its an advance?
BTW purchased it for $5990 with 130,000km...ne rego...re-rego was a 1 minute job, he walked up to it, noted down the VIN...and that was it...
So with a year of rego and stamp duty, a bit under 7 grand...RACV check came up really well also

yeah it did, mine has cruise and its a 3.0l TE exec manual.
whats your VIN say? it should start like 6MMT and then an (E) if is a TE, then a 5 or a 6 depending on manual or auto. After that is, A=advance, D=exec, K=alteraLS and U=altera. so if is says 6MMTE6D then is a 3.0l TE auto exec.

Looks like the rear lights have been replaced with TH ones.

Yes just noticed that too! Maybe it was in an accident? Who knows :).
na... my TF has the same tail lights.
na... my TF has the same tail lights.
The TF has slightly different indicators. The TF indicators have orange lines through it. I
tink it also has darker red lines through the brake light section. See the following images

I would suggest its almost definetely been in an accident (different tail lights, completely de-badged boot). Probably not a concern though :)

I reckon it might have been done by the previous owner because there are a few things that are not stock about the car...one wierd one is there is a red LED that has obviously been a DIY job, where your right knee would go...you know the lil' 1.5cm bit that I think has a screw behind it.
I have no idea what the LED is for, and it doesnt light up or nething

I have a TF solara and my vin is the same as that except the E is an F.... does that mean ive got a overglorfied (by me anyway) executive???
The solara is just a limited edition exec with a few extras. The advance is a long termer.
Compare it with the old holden vacationer etc. basically, the exec is the fleet base model
and the advance is the private base model.

Heh I like it, it's like a mystery to get to the bottom of what the previous owner was thinking. I'd say that the latest clue, clear side indicators, may point to someone who wanted to do a few things to the car but did not want to spend much money. Also may be someone who didn't want to make their car stick out too much but still has fun modding.
Who knows though, it could be something far more disturbing...

Perhaps someone in here can help me too. The compliance plate on mine says its a TK. But the insurer doesn't have a listing for that model and I havent been able to find it in here or searching the net. Its a 2000 Sports.

Thats funny :bowrofl:. Who ever did the plate typed in K rather then J. Yours should be a TJ
Series 1 Sports.

The compliance plate on the magna/veradas says
MITSUBISHI T/K SEDAN or WAGON
denoting same body shape for the Verada (Kx) and Magna (Tx) where x is the series!
