Unfortunately Im up for a new windscreen for the 380. Copped a stray rock flicked up by a truck the other morning on way into work on Canberra's Monaro hwy
Damned thing hit the bottom corner of the drivers side and sounded like a bomb went off in the car. After arriving at work and inspecting damage more closely (and a quick change of underpants), didnt look too bad, just a small chip. Thought to self "pop into repair shop on way home". Well.....it rained that day didnt it and the temperature dropped significantly didnt it....
By the time I got out after work there was a 3 foot crack right across to the middle of the screen.
No windscreen cover on insurance but best quote by far was from O'Briens with a price of $261 fitted in my garage this Saturday morning.
Happy about that price as I was expecting upwards of $400.
Cheers.

That sounds like a good price. Bugger about the rock... those sort of things are so random.

personally, i would get a quote on a genuine screen and mould. you may be suprised how cheap the screen might cost. if the screen is 250-300 dollars.. might be worth buying the screen and have a windscreen fitter fit it, for 80 dollars or so! a genuine screen with the mitsu logo in the corner always looks better for resale! i know when i see an aftermarket screen fitted, i always look extra carefully over the vehicle, as the alarm bells ring in my head telling me there may have been some serious accident repairs carried out.

you might find that O'breins will fit a genuine screen, I can't imagine there would be to much demand for after market 380 screens.

no offence, but i think your being a bit over the top there. Replacement windscreens are very common and not a very good indication of whether a car has been in an akko or not. Also i have sold alot of cars and i have never had anyone look to see if the windscreen was genuine or not

Spot on. Just had the screen replaced and O'briens fitted a genuine Mitsu screen. Guy said no aftermarked screens available as yet.
Happy with that.
I've got a smashed windscreen on my 380 as well. Same story - random flying rock hit it from nowhere at 100km/h. Presumably kicked up from a passing semi-trailer. The rock bounced off the front right guard and hit the windscreen just above where the tweeter is, atop the dash.
At first there was just a small splinter, but within seconds, it spread to about 1 foot long. I sort-of left it for a while, but now it has spread more than halfway across the screen. The crack now spans from the middle of the screen to the right bottom corner.
Think I'll get the O'Briens mob in to replace the screen now, what with the hotter weather coming on. The heat and associated expansion can't be good for a cracked screen!
VEEAREX : Was the fitting done well? No wind noise or whistling at highway speeds?

Yeah, you must be right - they are rock attracting windscreens
I can think of at least 5 other examples of other makes of car windscreens behaving the same.

Fitting was done very well and professionaly. No problems with whistling or water. O'briens highly recomended.

I am neutral to 380's, don't post crap like that because people can take it the wrong way.
