Hey guys i'm a 19 yo magna driver from canberra, my ride came as a 1999 TF advance converted to manual with a decent stereo unit and aftermaket cruise control (pretty sure it was added after).

Came across this site a while back and I have been lurking in the shadows for some time, using the 'search' function to figure out what i can do to my car. Been working on it since I bought in around 12 months ago and heres what i've got so far.

-Lowered suspension
Pedders, lows all round. Came to late to make a better desicion about that lol
-Clear tail lights
-Parabloic Headlights
-Colour coding
-Clear side indicators

Afew little modifications such as removing ugly plastic thing on rear windshield, removing mudgaurds and debadging.

Here is a decent before and after pic

Towbar is being removed next week, should be getting wheels soon also. Have other plans but they may not pull through.

Cheers guys

Thanks for the positive feed back guys, i'm real happy with the car. This site is so good and so bad, everytime I do one thing to my car I find three others on here that I might consider... :D

I actually have no idea of the measurments lol I was so eager to get rid of those absurd gapping wheel arches that I went out and got it done as quickly as possible. It was done at a place in canberra called Injektd who gets cheap deals through pedders, just told them I wanted it lowered as cheap as possible. Ride quality is ok but i'm afriad my shocks might be dying.

Gonna see how it looks after wheels and possibly a body kit then consider compressing the springs to get lower. Someone wanna have a fair guess at how many " my car has gone down coz I would be interested... :D

Thats actually probably one of the only pictures of clear tail lights on a magna I have ever seen that I have thought looked ok. Pretty much suits that colour, and that colour only :D

Good work on the manual conversion! :)

Looks good mate and welcome to the club:P .

But I think it's a TF not a TH (TH had different front grille, bumper and the high mount rear stop light was mounted at the top of the rear window instead at the bottom like the TE/F models).

Thats a nice ride mate, especially in manual, I bet you have some fun in that :)

Im sure though, by looking at the photo of the original that its a TF model, not a TH.

The guy I bought it off had already had it converted so I was cheering.

Just checked the plaque at the rear of the engine block, has TF amongst the other number so you are probly right, just goin off what my dad told me (thought he knew better lol).

Im looking at some second hand wheels soon, 18" zenetti pro V.

Personally they are the only choice for me when it comes to rims, but everyone likes what they like heh.

Nice ride, those wheels will look the goods and even better once the car is dropped more!
Very jealous you already have a manual conversion! good luck with the mods.

Very Nice!

I still find it amazing how much of a difference parabolics make to the look of the front end.. its such a dramatic change... and yet no one would even notice you had changed them (outside of magna owners)..

HAWT, but I say that and black look good with those lights!

BTW how come my TH sports only has the spoiler stop light... no high or low mount in rear window? TJ sports have both spoiler and high rear window ones :(

Did you also remove mudflaps :D

Yeah Definetly a TF, you can tell by the front bar (the vents at the bottom) and the rear garnish which has embossed "magna" and the front grille which doesnt have the 'dish'

Still looks sweet... Same colour as mine.

IMO, keep the towbar - it deters tailgaters and would hopefully lessen the damage in a rear collision.

Always get mud guards and flaps mixed up  lol I'm too shallow to keep the tow bar on, I figure now i've spent over a grand on mods I have to eliminate everything I can that detracts from the look of my car :D

Yeah I love the way you can spend so much time/money on your magna and the average joe wont be able to tell the difference. Took my folks 15 minutes of careful examination to realise my skirts strip and mirrors arent black anymore. Still people will admit the car looks nicer even if they cant figure out why lol.

hey on the before pic u got those stock plastic things on the side of the doors but in the after pic u got a silver one, whered u get that my car looks pretty much the same as yours but i want those silver or red side strips n gotta get the clear lights

murderweapon

The skirts were 'color coded' along with the mirrors and door strips. They are the same part only color matched and painted to fit the rest of the car. It cost me 330 for the entire job done proffesionally. I'd suggest either knowing a car sprayer or looking up the smallest spray paint place in the yellow pages. The lights were purchased off ebay and they are probably something that comes and goes.

Exactly what I thought, on the darker cars it seems to cheapen them

My TH sports has MAGNA embossed on the garnish... and I cant tell what you mean by "dish"

Embossed or printed? TH have Magna printed in black afaik. TF have it embossed.

The TF's have the plastic fins on the front (as in the pic) that are rounded and protrude all the way out to the edge of the grille, the TH's have the plastic mesh set back a couple of inches (hence the dish)

Id find a pic but you know... Im lazy

Peace

Did you also remove mudflaps :DI have a TJ Sports and it only has (had) the spoiler stop leds, no high mount (what they mean by high mount is higher than your standard brake lights, wether these be on the spoiler or top or bottom of rear windscreen) stop lamp for me.

Yeah there is a guy 5 mins away from me selling them in chrome 18" for a grand less than shadow 19". Thats enough to nearly buy and fit a new front bar and skirts, definately not worth it for the extra inch. I have been thinking long and hard about it though (as in its haunting my dreams lol) but in the end I cant justify paying 1k for 1". I have also argued with my self about the chrome, non chrome conundrum and decided on chrome because I want poeple to notice i just spent 1k+ on wheels. I know it's probly the rice burner in me talking but hey atleast they arent an outragous design or wheel that looks like a chrome diner plate.

Oh and thanks for all the positive feed back everyone glad to be here :D

And just to clarify it is a TF, my mistake I think i better edit that first post...

Nice ride dude, welcome to AMC.

As said before, those clear tail lights actually do look good with the body colour! I'm also amazed at the difference colour coding makes! Get some nice rims and you'll be set :)
