View Full Version : Whats possible with TS v6 auto box?
I think my gear box is really due a service and plan to flush it and change all the oil, oil filter, O-rings etc.....my mech tells me theres way to tighten the bands.....
Can anyone pls explain what that means.....and are there anything possible to be done with the auto gearbox to suit driving under 120km/hr? or anything?
Cheers

ok the 2nd gen auto gearbox only has one band its not like a ford which has 5 i believe, They are made up of clutches for each of the gears, so i don't know if your mechanic knows the magna gearbox all that well :S
i own a 2nd gen magna, the box oil change and filter change cost me about $80 (filter and correct oil wasn't cheap) but made a huge difference, a lot smoother between gear changes,
I'd do the engine oil/filter, air filter and fuel filter aswel,
(i went to the extent of changing my leads and spark plugs aswel even though they weren't too bad) might as well if i had them

Don't wanna highjack the thread, but my 3rd gen... going into 4th(top) gear in auto mode, will sometimes not hapen nicely... If im not fanging it or going slowly up/down/up in speed near the 60km mark... it will... disengage 3rd, light up the LED for 4th but the car will just rev like its in neutral until it decides to click in... someone had mentioned also to tighten something... i forget but its like a tentioner or sumn?
