Not very cool I appreciate but........

I have a 2005 wagon with rails and I need a rack for my board.

The factory rack is about the same price as the Rola one.

Can't understand why anyone would get a pattern part for the same price as the genuine unless there is something wrong with the genuine.

Anyone know anything about it?

Sam

The genuine one is a Rola - in fact the MMAL sales brochure even says "Rola roof rack" in the accessories section.

We don't have rails on our wagon, and just bought removable racks from RAK (http://www.roof-racks.com.au/) in Mona Vale. They cost $289. They are extending, so they fit on lots of cars, just with a change of mounting strap. We went half and half with my Mum & Dad, so we can fit them from our TJ wagon and their TF sedan :-) RAK make straps for the 380, too.

We also got a 450 litre Thule luggage pod today - I drove home at 90 km/h and couldn't hear it. Amazing. Now to go camping in a week's time :)

G'day fellas.

Yeah, I was considering getting one for my magna so i could throw the surf board and body boards on top however if i'm only going with a mate i can just collapse the front seat and it fits perfectly.

Just to complete the loop - I bought the genuine article - there was no reference to Rola anywhere on the packaging or instructions.

Somewhat amazingly it came with bolts that were too short to mate with the retained nut if both the flat and spring washer were in place - beleive me I tried.

In the end I dumped the spring washer and used some thread lock - but I still had to pack the underneath of the retained nut to get the threads to mate!

Not best impressed - I may have been supplied the wrong item of course.

If your planning it - may be check out the Rola item (which may or may not bethe same)?
