View Full Version : Service, Tyres and Brakes o my!
Well i decided i would get myself a service done on the car before we head off on a bit of a trip.
$266.00... no problemo.
Then they tell me ill be needing new tyres (which i knew anyhow) aswell as brakes (which i also knew).
So to cut a long story short.
Instead of just getting a service.
I order 4 new Eagle F1 DS-G3's and some Bendix brakepads.
Tyres = $1400 and the brakes are to be done this week.
So with that im almost $2.2grand down the gurgler.. all for a "service" hahaha
Just thought id share my little spending spree.. Anyone done anything similiar? (no need to bring your e-penis out either please)

Yeah i decided if i was going to buy a tyre.. It had to be a good one that gives me good cornering/braking and quietness all in one.

oh crap im gona be doing 7000kms round trip maybe more , im guessing you hooned a lot tho. so if i keep fuel average below 15 litres to the 100 and get fuel at less than a dollar i should be ok for less than a grand.

BOuncin' BOoya,
5000km travelled and $2400 spent on fuel. It just doesnt add up. If you paid $1 per litre then you would have averaged around 2.1 km per litre. At $1.10 per litre that equates to 2182 litres used and an average of 2.3 km per litre. That kind of economy is what I would expect from a Mack Truck not a Magna no matter how hard its been driven.

ZR17's :) the ZR18s were $365
My 1400 include wheel alignment, warranty and some other crap. Worked out to be $319 for each tyre by itself without all the additional stuff they do.

ok - booya - it was NOT my fault your tyres were bald - i just kinda drove over the border - the tyres just happened to smoke while i was doing it - and trying the 0-100 - it was impossible to get a clean launch - remember i tried a few times ;) haha
and what are you talking about all these fuel costs - i paid for a good 4 or 5 tanks ;) haha
and yes - 2.1km/s to a L sounds about right for the booya!! it is shocking - ok -maybe not quite that bad - but a 300km tank was a good tanks - that is still only just 4km to the L!!!

haha i read about 10 forums occasionally, mostly spend my time on the aussiemagna forums though.
im a younger person (23-24 i think) and i've been on the net for around 8 years now, and modems/bbs way before that.
i was brought up from birth with a c64 then in 1987-8 the amiga (w00t! i love those things!) and lived on a game called boulderdash/emerald mine non stop. the ibms could never play games properly and put me off games for life.

*big hugs for killybilly*
i even went as far as importing precision joysticks from the UK, there was the speedking and the navigator! expensive joysticks, then i learnt how to repair them etc etc.
wow! im, speechless!
heres the speedking - fits in your hand purfectly with the button underneath! i still have a few at mums house too!

sorry, more like 1400 on fuel, not counting manuals tank fills. which would of then added up to close to 1600. and yes. this thing of mine eats fuel more then we could drink water in a week!
a 'good' tank of fuel would last between 300 and 380km!
so a shocking fuel economy does add up quickly!
