dash led upgrade..... what can be done TJ AWD????

dash led upgrade..... what can be done TJ AWD????

Not much fun doing this. read some of my posts on TJII clusters. Only solution in the end was to get a sports AWD cluster (cheers TJ sports!). Tried to get the odo changed on friday, they are going to desolder what I image is the flash rom off the back (~8 pin DIL chip) and swap it across. It can't be done from the back either, they have to take the overlay off (and the needles - so it has to be recalibrated too), and pull it all appart. Not a small job. They said there is a risk they'll kill it too! I'm going to the main place that does it next week, I think they have the electronic gear to reset it.
On a side note, ford service dealer used to be able to reset odos, but ford australia took it away from them, because of widespread missuse by dealers!!

TJ sports had posted a picture of the inner working of a ralliart cluster with led's yonks ago. Unless you're good at surface mount soldering, it looks too hard

yeah i did a search....

my cluster has leds they are surface mount soldered!! thats factory they are white in colour.... how does the sports cluster vary...?? i dont wanna change the dials etc... only the colour.... and which idiot at mitsu decided to do away with globes... idiots!!!

The idiot that decided changing incandescents sucked.

There are pleanty of kits around where you can buy other coloured LED's to change on your phone etc. If you can solder SMD, you should be OK. I thought about changing mine to red, but couldn't be stuffed.
