There is a black VRX at the dealership where I got mine. It was lowered with 19" wheels and split rear exhaust with chrome tips.
Side silver pin striping.
Looked fantastic.

Yeah, that does look hot but how practical for a daily driver??
It would be nice to own a "show pony" that you didnt need practicality out of on a daily basis.
Mine is as low I could go without scraping every speed hump and driveway.

That is such good value for only like $22k! If I had a little bit more money (im only 17) I'd buy it straight away. Absolutely fantastic looking cars. Hopefully by the end of next year when I've got some more dosh I'll have a 380VRX/GT in either silver, storm or stealth (black).

Just happened to drive past a identical black VRX about a few hours ago and thought to myself "thats got potential".
I'm shocked that you can pick them up already for $22,000 though  .

I spoze that is a bit of a concern. If the 380 continue's to depreciate as fast as it has (which wouldn't be the case, as cars depreciate most in the first year) that means that a 380VRX may only be like $15k at the end of next year. I hope not for the people who buy these cars new, but for my sake, a person who will buying it used, they present an oppurtunity of buying a fantastic car at a ridicuously low price.

Yeah I realise that. It's just that the 380 is newer model and I kinda expected a 380VRX with only 20k on the clock to be worth more than $22,990. I'm sure resale will improve once there is some real demand for the 380 (when the new VRX and 4-cylinder models are released.
I'd much rather the 380 then any other large car, especially when considering the quality, design, features and of course the price; nothing beats it.
Can someone please buy this 380VRX? Or buy it for me ? :D

The VRX's and GT's look good stock, but with lowering and bigger mags they look perfect. I don't know why people compain about styling.

And 380's, particuarly the VRX's look fantastic in black.

disagree there, the fords ugly.
The caprice is ugly too.
They seem to big, where as the 380 seems more compact
however I dont mind a hotted up monaro but a 380 with all the same mods matches it easily
only difference would be the V8 vs V6

Guys just keep in mind that the black 380VRX which this thread is titled on is a privately sold car - therefore we can't take too seriously the pricing. They can price whatever they want, and are clearly desperate to sell it.

I agree also. All of them look better than the 380, especially the Monaro and the Caprice. All cars can look okay in black because it hides the true lines of the car. Put the 380 VRX in white or silver and it exposes the car a lot more.

They're just stock, all they need is some bigger rims and lowering and you've got a fully sik pimpin 380!:P
I find the lighter colours also work for the 380 here as they accentuate 380's dynamic styling. Wow I'm liking the 380 even more now!:D

Ok for arguments sake they look better (tis totally up to everyones own opinion but we'll ignore that fact for now).
Now tell me what the difference in RRP is on those cars compared with the 380....then realise they are still more expensive for an older car.
For the price you're laughing i reckon.

That's probably because they are all RWD V8's with 1 of the Monaros being a super 6 and many of them (particularly the Caprice) offering things not available from the 380. The fact that those cars are more expensive RRP makes them such good value for money 2nd hand. The Caprice would have been $73,000 new and is only $29,000 now. That's good value. For that price I'd be laughing.
I'm not dissing the 380 at all because I know it's probably the best value for money car brand new. Adz89 however, suggested there is no better looking car for the same price or $10,000 more than the $22,000 VRX. That's what I disagree on. There are a load of 2nd hand cars valued $22,000 - $32,000 that look a lot better and even go a lot harder than a 380 VRX.
P.S. The silver 380 which you linked is actually a 380 GT which is $42,000.
P.P.S. Also the original car in question is actually $22,990 aka $23,000 not $22,000 which seems more reasonable.

... in your opinion. In my opinion the Monaro's look good, but the Caprice is crap, though new WM is hot. Ford XR's don't do anything for me any more in the looks dept.
The opriginal poster on this thread happened to come across a 380 he thought looked hot. Whilt it's not the best 380 I've ever seen, it does look good, thanks in part to some good photo angles.
Most people here find the 380 in VRX/GT guise to look pretty damn good - can't you accept that? It is a Mitsu-based forum after all. Just like the VE will be looked upon over-favourably in Holden forums, but I don't care because it's to be expected. Move on.

Those 2 380's on rims look great because the pictures are taken front on! :P
I just can't accept HALF a car looking great. The rear looks ok at best on the base model, and just plain tacky on the VRX/GT.
So for that reason its my opinion that the Monaro and XR8 look better. And Commodore Omega too.
P.S. When factoring in price, my pick would definetely be a 380SX tho.
P.P.S. I dont give a **** that this is a Mitsu forum, I will say it how i see it.

 Oh boy, I was refering to the fact that people on a Mitsu forum are more likely to be pro Mitsu than on other forums, because someone here clearly can't handle what is nothing more than common sense - please read before you post.
But I couldn't agree with you more on the 380 SX - by far the best 380 variant when you combine looks for unbeatable value. Saw an electro SX yesterday looks great, though I reckon it could still use a proper spoiler. Probably still lean toward the VRX (in molten:P), though now with series 2 have those plain as **** GT rims I'd whack some 20's on and Bob's ur uncle. :D

perhaps it came accross a little strong, but that comment wasnt aimed at you, more a general comment. I'm a fan of Mitsubishi's, but i pride myself on not being biased. If other manufacturers make a better car, i wont let a badge alone sway my choice.
I just think quite a few people here let their heart rule over their head.

And what's wrong with that, Tim?
Part of the joy of car ownership is being passionate about what you own. This is why VP Vanquish keeps hijacking this Forum and posting "Commodores are better" type comments.
I bought my car based on the market place and came back to the 380. That surprised me because I was definitely going away from large cars. Look at the accolades it's got (Wheels handling test, Carpoint and newspaper writeups), it's actually a very good car.
And, I'll defend my purchase in this section and be as one-eyed as I like about it.
But what I wouldn't do is spam another Forum about how good I think 380s are.

PLEASE KEEP THIS THREAD ABOUT 380's. IF YOU LIKE THE CRAP FORD OR HOLDEN THEN GO JOIN THERE FORUM
380 is also good cause not many people have them, unlike the old and unoriginal holdens and fords. Also the size is awesome its sleek and stylish and smaller then the much larger xr6/8 and monaros etc.
I agree there are some nice cars for the same price, but I like the black 380.

Sorry I couldn't resist. These are all better looking. One of them is only $26,000.
2002 V8 Monaro
2002 Super 6 Monaro
BA XR8
V8 WK Caprice with only 60,000kms for $29,500. Wow
The black 380VRX looks better then every single one of those cars. In terms of for the price, none of those cars come close. To further define my point, keep the car around 20,000km and make it a late '05 model, then find a WK Caprice (ugly son of a...) which has a decent auto transmission and build quality. Now you're rooted. :bowrofl:
Honestly, ever single one of those cars you mentioned smells bogan, with the exeption of perhaps the Caprice and the BA not so much. Those Monaro's are extremely old compared to the '05 380VRX and look like a 2 door VT, probably with VT build quality combined to create the ultimate atmosphere of poverty.
As I said before (in my first paragraph of this post) find a comparable car using those demographics which can be up to $10k and I think you'll have to accept defeat.

If you're going to come out and say on any forum that a Mitsubishi 380 VRX is the best looking car for it's price and even better than car's worth $10,000 more than you, you are asking for trouble. It has nothing to do with me owning a Commodore. People assume that because I own a Commodore I live and breathe Commodores - I don't. In fact that's probably why you will notice I posted an XR8, a Caprice and a Monaro (none of which are Commodores) as being some of the cars which are better looking.
If someone said a Commodore was the best looking car for it's price and better than car's $10,000 more than it too I would react exactly the same way. The problem is nobody does that.
If you think people on this forum ought to say the Mitsubishi 380 is the best looking car and it's the fastest car, and it's the best car in the world simply because this forum is mostly made up of Mitsubishi owners, then you're getting out of touch with reality. That would be called obsessed with a particular brand regardless of product. Funnily enough the reason why you think I am this way is because you are so loyal to Mitsubishi that anyone in your opinion mentioning non-Mitsubishi related cars are automatically haters.
If you actually stopped and read what I posted you will realise all I said was that there are other cars that there are better looking than the Mitsubishi 380 VRX for the same price or $10,000 more expensive. What you have turned that into is a drama.
And just for the record, I'm not passionate about Commodores or Magna or Falcon or anything. I like them all in their own way. What I am passionate about is cars in general and accurate measurements of things car related.

For the record, I find you adz89 far more one-eyed than VP Vanquish. And stop arguing over a subjective topic, its pointless.
Thats fair enough. I for one wouldnt question your purchase of your 380, i know they are good cars...

You cannot make a bold statement based on a set of parameters and then try and change those parameters to make your statement sound better after you clearly made a ill-advised statement.
As I said before (in my first paragraph of this post) find a comparable car using those demographics which can be up to $10k and I think you'll have to accept defeat.
Those are not demographics. The term you are looking for is criteria/criterion, not demographics.

You cannot argue one car is better looking than another one because beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease mate.. that is bs. I only made a 2nd statement because of the cars you submitted for viewing in one of your previous posts. They were significantly older, had no or very short warranties, had substantially more km's on the clock and (in my opinion) were not as good looking as the 380VRX advertised for $22,990 in terms of look or price. Therefore, to go out of your way and find a car (or cars) that looked better then the 380VRX for sale costing up to $10k more you came across cars which were older, previous models, reaked of bogan, or had higher km's. Along with the fact that they are 'old' cars compared to this 380VRX, having paint which isn't as shiny and quite simply looking like an old car. This is amplified by the VE / WM being released, making previous generation Commodore/Statesman,etc. look quite dated, despite the not-so-obvious differences in styling between the last model and the new one (exeption of the Statesman/Caprice). To many Australian's the 380 is an all new car, with many not realising that the American Galant it is based on is an '03 model car. Therefore, the 380 is perceived as significantly newer then the Commodore (pre VE), Falcon or Caprice because (to Australians), the 380 is a new model car. Because of this I find it more appealing and find it a better looking car. So you can chuck any car which may be 36 or however many months old at me and it won't change my judgement until it matches the 380 in many areas, which at the current time/date there is none available, unless you are willing to except a substantially older, and potentially abused vehicle
Those are not demographics. The term you are looking for is criteria/criterion, not demographics.
Blah blah blah, i don't really care. I was typing it in a rush it doesn't bother me if I substitued one word for another.

Speaking of how HOT the 380 is. Has anyone heard any news about the new/updated 380VRX being released early next year (probably in March/April) and is possibly being unveiled at the Sydney International Motor Show (possibly getting pushed back to the Melbourne Motor Show though  ).

I think you both need to agree to disagree. You guys are arguing over what can only be described as personal taste and not "fact". Some may say those cars look better, some may say worse. Doesn't mean either of you are wrong. Unless someone says a ford taurus is the best looking car, that's an exception :P.
I believe that for what the 380 vrx in this thread is, it's undeniable value and it does look great. Compared to the cars VP vanquish posted, i believe i'd rather the 380 still, based on the fact that those cars don't really do anything for me, except maybe the xr6.

Ok then. That's fine with me. I admit my may have a slight bias toward Mtisubishi because of the experiences my family and my father's work have had with Holden's. As I have said previosuly, I don't mind the looks of the Ford, but I find it becoming a very old car. So in my opinion I would never rate a BA, BF or BF II (whatever one of the 3, there is really NO difference) better then a 380 (whether it be a SI or SII, there is really NO difference) for the reason I perceive the 380 as a significantly newer model with better looks and substantially more features for what you pay per $. Therefore I would never rate a 3 or 4 year old Holden or Ford better then a 380 in the looks department because they are older cars and don't do anything to make me want one. However, if you could get me a VE Calais-V in say 10 - 12 months time for $25k and a 380VRX was still $25k I would find the choice (and the look of the car) more difficult.
Anyway........ back on to hot 380's :)

To be honest, guys, I find this all so repetitive. Every time a new thread is started in this 380 section certain posters get in here (you know who you are) and throw in the Falcadore factor.
The thread wouldn't have degenerated if these people refrained from posting this crap or stayed on topic.
Do you wonder why other 380 owners don't post here very often?
The OP posted pictures of a good loking 380.
Is this any different to the Third Gen or Second Gen Section?
Why can't the thread continue on topic?

Nah, dw about it. Just let this thread go on about the hot (black) 380 you originally posted and let people comment on it, etc. rather then the fight/debate which has occured.
That black 380 is fantastic, lower it and inch or two and it'd look tops. Maybe tints too:)

There is a black VRX at the dealership where I got mine. It was lowered with 19" wheels and split rear exhaust with chrome tips.
Side silver pin striping.
Looked fantastic.
was that nundah mitsubishi in brisbane? cos they had exactly the same thing and it looked absolutely stunning. They also had a TL VRX with the exact same thing (black with silver stripes, lowered, same 18' wheels) and it was probably the sexiest TL i've ever seen aswell
oh and btw those arguing over which car is better looking, your all friggin idiots. If you can't accept that some people think differently about which car is better looking your your an ignoramous. Some people think the BA falcon looks best, some think the monaro, some think commodores and yes some people think the 380! AGREE TO DISSAGREE!! fools..

I find it hilerious that so called mature people can argue about personal taste! WHO GIVES A TOSS WHICH CAR LOOKS BETTER!!
The point was that the black 380 looks hot... which I think it does, so why are we comparing other cars?! It doesnt change the fact that the 380 looks good. If you don't like it dont post! Everyone is allowed to think yes or no.
I personally love the look of a balck or silver 380VRX or GT lowered with rims.

I have to agree most cars look good in black - prob cause its hides some of the cars lines...
I've had a:
- Black U12 SSS Bluebird hard-top - looks good for the first 5 seconds after cleaning
- Black R32 GTS4 Coupe - as above
- Black '02 TJ3.5 ExecS2 - as above.
buggers to keep clean and all look good in black, especially on sunset where the different light makes the cars look really, really good. Even my friends Kia Sorrento looks good in black as does her dad's '02 Chevy 2500.
The 380 is definitely one of those cars that benefit from good colour selection e.g. Black, Royal Blue. Hides some of those awkward lines and accentuates the overall body shape.
