i was just wonerding how people split their RCA's into more than 2. i am starting a major boot setup and i need to run 6-8 RCA's (3-4 sets) to the amps for the subs, the problem is i only have 2 (1 set) and i was thinking if you just bought those ones that split 1 into 2 that if you did that you would loose signal? so i was wondering if there was like a signal prossesor? or something to split the RCA's without loosing signal? and what everyone else has done to overcome this problem? i currently have a Pioneer 6850 head unit if that helps?

some amps have another rca output on them which is called a pass through, these are use when you have a few amps and only one rca to run them off. using this connects each amp together that runs off the one signal.

Wire them in series not parallel.
I hope, if not, I am ****ed for physics exam tommorow!
Oh my goodness, you have one set of RCAs that you want to split into 8? That's just pointless man. Don't even bother. Get a new headunit.
What do you need 8 for? crossover network? signal processor? 8 amps? 7.1 system? Even if you have a 7.1 system, the 1 set of RCA's isn't going to work. Don't even think about having a proper soundstage if you want to amp rear speakers.

i need so many to power my 5 subs, 2X10", 2X12" and 1X15" so i have 1 4 channel for the 2X10" which requires 4 or 2 depending how i wire them 2 for the pioneer amp for the 15" and 2 for the jaycar i;m currently buying for the 2X12". my head unit has 6 outputs but they are front rear and sub, the front and rear both have HPF though. should be very LOUD when i finish hopefully.

what subs are you running? are they 2ohm or 4ohm subs cause you should be able to wire them up together (eg. wire the 2 12" together) to save on buying lots of amps

ah ha... what i know about car audio you could write on a grain of rice but......
monoblock!!
i've got 4 12's running off a jaycar special, **** ****ing hot.... she pumps man!! im having massive headaches and have turned the sub level way down.... now if i had good subs id be in hospital with bleeding ears.. but mine are real povo crap untill i can afford beter... but 1-2 monos will power as many subs as u like almost depending on how they are wired up

they are all 4 ohm and only problem with having all subs running off 1 amp is that they are all different RMS

If you really want to use all the amps, the first suggestion would be ur best bet. Its highly likely that your amps have rca pass through, so you just run one lead to the first amp then a shorter lead from the rca out from the first amp into the 2nd amp and so on.
But a single mono would be the better option, preferably with all the same subs or fewer higher quality subs.
You have many wiring configs with so many subs so most amps will be suitable. Although you might be inclined to push your amps too hard to get them all moving, this is likely to make it sound worse.
Peace
Tim

oh my god who designed your system? Have you ever wondered why you don't see any systems with 3 different sized subs? except for maybe aesthetic purposes? I'm going to cry.
Just wire everything to the sub out, since that would have a low pass filter, and spilt the crap out of it. If u use the front/rear ones, don't high pass them

Just use splitters, the input impedence of your amps is so high, you could split it ten ways and still have enough signal.
Unbalanced audio is shyte easy to deal with - start playing with balanced AES/EBU ~ thats where the headaches start :(

thanks people there are a few things i might try thanks to your input. and i aint planning for groceries, as there would be stuff flying everywhere, egg would be exploding, bottles rupturing, dam what as mess. but i will hopefully get all my bits together and make temporary boxes and see how it goes. and next year in school finish the job in furniture works and then post some pics but it should be SWEET
Cheers

see if the amps have RCA outputs. if so just daisy chain them to the next amp and so on. i got rca splitters runnin in my car, didnt realise there was rca output on amps. i shoulda juz daisy chained them.

Don't some amps modify the output to whatever they've been LPF/HPF'ed?
Don't some amps modify the output to whatever they've been LPF/HPF'ed?
no, they usually have a selector swticch whether u wanna alter the output or not.
How's progress on this thing going Dust03
