The fuel guage of my TF keeps working even when the ignition is turned off. What should I be looking for....everything else in the instrument binicle turns off.
pretty sure u will find that normal, my TF does the same thing

Probably because the TE-TF had a mechanical gauge where after they use an electronic fuel sender unit to measure how much has been used which is integrated into the trip computer.

Hmmmm, Im using a fuel sender unit from a TJII in my KE, both are the same. Same PN and all.
I thought it might of been for security so ppl wont suck the fuel out of your car.
mine always stays on in my tf
Pre TJ magnas fuel guage stay on (this includes 2nd gens but not 1st gens). Mine turns off
as soon as I switch the engine off.

Why was it a stupid thing? The only difference is you have to wait .5 of a second for it to display and as someone said earlier, it's a security thing so that people don't see you have a full tank and try to syphon it all out. Why would you want to know how much fuel you have when you're not even driving? And if you do need to know chuck the key in and click to on (without starting).
Too easy :).

They must have changed it as of TJII with the new digital dash.

Why are there so many variances with the magna....what's going on?
Was it "stock" to have all Series 3 fuel guages showing "on" when ignition is off?
I'm a little confused!

Read my posts. TJII and onwards have fuel guages turn off due to the new electronic
dash. The TJ1.5 and earlier use cable driven electric dash so the fuel guage needle always
stay where its supposed to be.
